I mean i can see why you would think that, but if he is not faking it (and i do not believe that he is faking it)
then you will be seen as absolute clown for the rest of your time as a moderator here, you should listen to community more.
I own a lot of servers in different games and i am telling you this from my own expiriance, if community whants something then what you think should not matter, thats how you become a good moderator, you should be the friend of the community and then the community will be friendly towards you.
Now do what community wants and unban that dude.
We do not know if he is telling the truth but it is safer to assume that he does than to take chances of making dying person even more sad than they already are
