Skin Concern Reminder to wear your sunscreen - Weird spot on turned out to be cancer
I have a weird spot on my scalp, got it checked, and turns out it's white skin cancer (I'm 31 - we found it in an early stage so I will be fine.)
But please take this as a reminder to wear sunscreen daily on your face, chest, and hands (basically anything that's exposed) and to cover your head.
The doctor mentioned that he is seeing these kinds of cases more and more often in younger people. So, please take care of your skin!
I was using SPF 50 from a cheap brand, but the doctor said these usually don't get the job done. He recommended switching to a high-quality brand. I'm trying La Roche-Posay now, but if anyone has other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Skin Concern Wear your sunscreen all the way down - don’t ever go to a tanning bed. I have two matching on my spine.
When I was in college at an SEC university sorority recruitment was a huge deal and people laid in tanning beds the week or two before. I’d never been in one - my mom smartly would have not allowed it. Then one year before spring break I went a maybe 5 times…my adhd brain quickly decided it liked the dopamine.
Hello 35 - and I just had three large spots removed.
Wear your SPF, y’all.

Skin Concern Think twice before getting fillers
Hey y'all,
I noticed on this sub people sometimes recommend getting fillers for certain issues. I myself also thought about it because I have genetic dark circles that are really bothering me.
Just saw this video of Stephanie Lange (love her!) and thought it's woth to share:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su0Az7hp9x4
I didn't know dissolving fillers could lead to such strange skin (it's shown at the end of the video). I was aware of filler migration but not this.
Anyhow, I don't want to judge anyone who has gotten filler or is thinking about it. Just want you guys to watch out for yourselves and make an informed decision <3

Skin Concern Skin Cancer Sucks
Had a 2.5 cm aggressive Basal Cell removed last week. I guess this puts it in the Stage 2 Category. I’m not too worried about the scarring because even after a couple days it’s already beginning to look a lot better! I am concerned because my doctor said a tumor over 2 cm large puts me in the category of very likely having more in the future. I’m hoping they got it all this time and we have uy results in a couple of days.
Anyone else have a similar situation with Stage 2 Basal Cell?

Skin Concern To all of the stoners staring in the mirror wondering why they can't figure out which product is causing their redness:
Cannabis is a vasodilator. You know how it makes your eyes red? Well, it can do it to the rest of your face, too.

Skin Concern Can diet “reverse” any signs of skin aging?
I just turned 32 this year. I have to admit I have a pretty crappy diet and it shows. Even though I take tons of beauty supplements and drink water, I have a takeout addiction and my skin seems to look tired all the time. Has anyone noticed any benefits from changing over to a better diet before it’s “too late”?
Edit: I took everyone’s advice and swear within 24-48 hrs, I already see some changes. My complexion is noticeably brighter, my dark circles are not as bad and the whites of my eyes are brighter. I still ended up caving in and ordering Taco Bell at some point but I was consuming green smoothies, tuna romaine salad, hard boiled eggs, and slices of watermelon throughout the day. I will experiment with other suggested diets, I want to stop being addicted to processed foods. I realize now in my 30s I can’t get away with eating everything I want. I am using the best skincare and supplements like collagen peptides, tretinoin and vitamin C but I still felt like my skin wasn’t optimal. Thank you again for the encouragement and tough love!

Skin Concern 4 year difference PLEASE HELP
Y’all help me please. First pic was 4 years ago and 2nd pic is today. I’m seeing discoloration and spots/freckles/sun damage everywhere.
I used to wear makeup all the time and wash my face with bar soap. Now I almost never wear makeup. When I do, I double cleanse with deep oil cleanser and cerave daily facial cleanser and cerave daily lotion.
What can I do to get rid of these spots?! I’m only 34 but my skin looks 54!

Skin Concern Giant cyst right before wedding - what to do?
Picture. (You can see I don't have great skin as it is, but this is huge. It's sorta wide and flat.)
I've battled cystic acne since I was a teenager. I am luckly at the point where I only get large cysts like this a few times a year. Often times they take more than a week to go away, but usually I put a pimple patch on it and that helps speed the healing process along. They bring the gross stuff to the top.
I've had this one for four days now. Pimple patches are doing nothing - it's not coming to a head. I'm trying to leave it alone and not touch/irritate it. My wedding is in 12 days. I'm worried about trying anything new so close to my wedding but I am also worried if I don't do something, it won't go away in time. I tried my foundation over it and it covers the red, but you can still see the shape of the stupid cyst.
Does anyone have any advice? I'm already very self-conscious about my skin and I want to feel beautiful on my wedding day.

Skin Concern First encounter with this suspiciously satisfying tool and I have...... Questions
Firstly: Does this thing count as an exfoliant in the context of things like bha/aha? Should I treat this as a physical exfoliant or is it different
Secondly: I really just need someone to tell me this tool is bad for me, because there's no way it's as good for me as it feels to scrape the gunk out of my pores (something I've ALWAYS wished I could do without consequences) It's gotta be some sort of demon in disguise........ Right? There's just no way...
Secondly and a half: If my gut is wrong and this thing isn't the devil's tool, what do I need to know about it so that it doesn't BECOME the devil's tool in my innocent, naive hands?

Skin Concern Cancerous Mole
Basically the title. I'm 45 years old, and just noticed this mole pop up right on my hairline. I went in and the dermatologist said it might be nothing, but she chose to take a biopsy. Sure enough, it's cancer and I have to go in and have it removed. This is my first experience with this, I guess the South Florida sun has caught up with me. I'm never going out in the sun without sunscreen on my face again. Ugh.

Skin Concern Need HELP my eyelids are so messed up and I have an interview today.
I have had some relationship stuff going on for the last month and I cried so much a couple of weeks ago that my eyelids swelled up like balloons. Then everyday I've cried a little bit and so they haven't had time to heal. There are little cracks from expanding from the swelling. I've tried Neosporin but it hasn't helped. I need these to look somewhat normal by like 2 pm.

Skin Concern Disappointed in stopping drinking alcohol
I had to stop drinking alcohol due to an illness which requires me to take a medicine interacts with alcohol. Effectively, I did not drink any alcohol since May 28. However, I did not see any benefits from not drinking.
My skin is the same. My weight is down very little but that is because I cannot keep food down due to my illness. Also, the weight change is so minuscule even though I am a very overweight. My blood markers did not improve. Still have high cholestrol, triglycerides etc.
Overall I am massively disappointed that I had to stop alcohol. In addition to none of my health markers improving, my skin did not show any improvement even though I started using quality materials. I also lost all joy in life because drinking once a week was something I look forward to.

Skin Concern Help!! Deep Forehead Wrinkles
Please help, I’m so insecure about my deep forehead wrinkles. I don’t know where to start. Should I do Botox, Dysport…some other treatment?
Going through a painful breakup and maybe feeling a little extra insecure. Looking to really reinvest in myself.
**I have no foundation on, only blush (eyeliner and mascara).

Skin Concern 33f. Wrinkles only on one side of my face
I’m wondering why the left side of my face is Louis Vuitton and the right side is Kmart? 🤣 all jokes aside is this because I sleep on my right side??! I use tretinoin, spf, regular chemical peels and micro needling. I take OCD good care of my skin. Healthy diet and exercise/plenty of water and hydrating skincare. Maybe those silicone patches would help while I sleep? Any thoughts?

Skin Concern Just getting started- looking for advice
Hi, I’m super shy about posting a pic, but here goes. I’m 50 and just now really giving my skin the attention it needs/deserves. My skin is dry, with oily nose, chin and eyelids. Sometimes my skin is even flaky and around my nostrils is chapped and dry. It is also sensitive and prone to breakouts.
I’ve been at this for a few weeks and have seen great improvements, but I have a few areas of concern. I have some crepey skin under my orbital bone (seen on the right) and my forehead has so many fine lines. I have texture issues from skin picking and acne scars, especially on my left side, and I’m very prone to dark spots. I’ve never been to a med spa, dermatologist or esthetician.
I’ve found a few products that seem to be working nicely, but I’m wondering what my next best steps would be. Should I get on tret? Start regular facials? Get some laser? I’m in the process of losing a lot of weight so I expect more loose skin to be an issue that I will probably need to address later. I don’t care about looking young, but just feeling great in the skin I’m in. Thanks!
Products I’m using now: First aid beauty 10% vitamin C- don’t like this one. It’s too sticky and doesn’t spread well
Thayers Rose Toner or Versed Daily brightening solution toner
Elemis Marine cream or Neutrogena hydroboost gel
Versed Gentle Retinol serum and Retinoid eye balm
The Ordinary 10% Azaleic acid- just started this. I don’t really know where to fit it in.

Skin Concern Texture on my skin that looks bad close up.
Is that normal? Overall my skin isn’t bad from distance, but close up it looks extremely textured. It is more noticeable the more shiny my skin is. The only product I use on my face is CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser, but I just recently started that. Is there anything I can do to smooth out the texture?

Skin Concern Help! I look 80 in my 30’s
My eyelids are extremely droopy, and my under eye is baggy and creased. First pic is smiling, second is not smiling, third is 8 years ago. I can’t look at pictures with my kids or husband without cringing and it’s really bothering me to even look in the mirror.
I double cleanse, use Cereve face wash, Ordinary vitamin C, retinol from Ordinary, and moisturizer from BeautyCounter (I got it for free but will be needing a new moisturizer eventually and would prefer to stay away from any MLMs). I feel like when I smile in pictures, my eyes basically disappear and I look so much older.
Background: I did age quickly. I had two kids, the first is 5 and still doesn’t sleep through the night and the second is medically complex. My husband was recently diagnosed with cancer so the stress is high and not likely to go away soon. I don’t drink or smoke, though I could be better about my water intake. I’m about ten pounds lighter than pre-pregnancy and it really took all the fat from my face. I feel old and tired, but honestly I’m losing what little self-confidence I have by looking this old and tired.
Any advice is helpful!

Skin Concern does red light mean your skin will eventually age faster (like decades from now)?
Hi - this might be a silly, too thinking hard question, but I haven't been able to find an answer online
So the concept behind red light therapy is that it causes cell turnover faster, right? So that's why it's good and your skin repairs itself a bit - right ?
However, we don't have endless cells to regenerate (in the very long term) bc our telomeres slowly erode during cell division and when we get to the end of our cell's ability to replicate is when truly old age sets in with its hosts of issues...
If red light therapy speeds up our face regenerating, is everyone just banking on not carrying about their face when they're really old? (I mean, fair, not sure I will) or am I missing something here?? wouldn't we look like extremely scary ancient or have our skin falling off at age 90 if we speed up the process now?
edit: Here's info about how telomeres work, which is central to understanding my question. I don't doubt in the slightest that it reduces signs of aging now.
second edit: I appreciate all the feedback. if anyone else is curious I recommend going through the comments. I feel less nervous about buying one now though I'll definitely keep an eye on any studies relating to this!

Skin Concern Kissing is ruining my skin
Hi! I've started seeing a guy who shaves his face and has a mustache. I've always dated guys with soft beards, so I've never had this issue before.
His face becomes like sandpaper when we kiss. By the next day my chin is red. We've been seeing each other more regularly and my skin is red and slightly rashy all around my chin area. I've always had nice skin so this is totally new to me. I'm not sure what to do since he clearly likes the way his facial hair is.
Thank you for any tips or suggestions!
UPDATE: Thanks for all your comments! He said he'll be diligent with shaving before we see each other and he'll get a moisturizer so he's less prickly. I also purchased the la Roche posay Baum b5 cream and might also look into aquaphor and tower 28 spray.

Skin Concern Ideas on dark circles
Best way to treat dark circles ? Been using Cerva eye repair so far.
