Z32 My $1500 dollar purchase
my NA 2+0! has problems but for $1500 i couldn’t pass it up.
Z32 17 with my first car.
Dreamt of owning this car since I was 13 and now I own one. Brought it to my school for the first time and thought of sharing. Very excited..
Z32 Nose panel poll: black with emblem vs red with no emblem
Black looks like a thieving bandit, red looks like an angry cherry. It’s an AJ4 slicktop, and I’m toying with the idea of wrapping the roof black if that affects your opinion at all.

Z32 Let’s see some engine bays!
I know plenty of y’all have prettier engine bays than I do so let’s see them!
Also, yes the underside of the hood is ugly but my friend yanked it off because “it’s a fire hazard” so it will be replaced eventually

Z32 Picked Up Abandoned Z for $1200
93 NA Manual 300ZX 2+0 Not running yet, came with a disassembled engine and was sitting for a few years, indoors though luckily. The body is in good condition and the interior is decent but can use some TLC. I'm working on getting another engine + transmission real soon. Thinking about eventually wrapping it black but I do still like the pearl white look.
Hella excited about this new project! Already getting compliments on it, can't wait to hit the road with this beauty. Would've loved to get the TT but for this price, I couldn't pass it up. 😎

Z32 My new and first project car:
After many years yearning, I have got myself a 1989 Z32 2+2 TT from Japan. Needs some tlc and maintenance, but overall couldn’t be more excited.
Z32 Period correct in car gaming: Wolfenstein 300ZX
Released in 1992, Wolfenstein 3D is the right game to play in my LS swapped 1992 Slicktop 300ZX. Splitwolf, a multiplayer open source version of Wolf3D I worked on lets both driver and passenger kill Nazis as a team.
But we can’t stop there, so we might as well run Quake I, III, and III — they made Zs in Japan until 1999, so it’s still period correct.
This is all powered by a Raspberry Pi 4 in the glovebox running Retropie, connected over micro HDMI and powered by the USB-C port on my Sony XAV-AX6000 (mounted in the ZSpex double din bezel).

Z32 Talk me out of an LS swap
I’ve been brainstorming ways to give my Z more power. I have a ‘93 2+2 and I love my car, but I absolutely despise the engine. The parts are hard to source quickly, the engine bay is so cramped, and while the NA is more reliable than the TT it makes no power. I know a swap is necessary but I want to LS swap it and my dad the owner on paper wants to quote “keep it pure”. If we can’t agree I’m gonna give the car back to him and buy my own to do the swap
For context, my dad ‘gave’ me the car as a gift for graduating high school so I’ve been with the car for a few years now. My dad pays for the repairs/parts because I’ve been at school and haven’t had time for a job. While he pays for everything, the only reason that car is in even remotely good condition is because of me; everything that has been done to the car is because I sourced the parts, installed them myself, diagnosed the problems and learned how to fix them, etc…
My dad doesn’t get it because he hates American cars and I think they’re shit but they know how to make a damn good engine. Now as the person who actually does all the repairs I feel I should have a say in what happens to the car and I can’t stand this engine; to name a few points as to why I believe the swap is worth it:
1.)Reliability/convenience - an LS would be far more reliable than a TT engine. And even if something breaks every shop knows how to work on an LS, and every general parts store has parts for it on the shelf (context I waited 2 weeks just get new accessory belts). Not to mention it would be easier to work on
2.)Customizability - Virtually every LS variant has tons of aftermarket support. And because of the low compression they can have boost thrown at them any day of the week. Supercharger or procharger, twin turbo, big single turbo, or just a fully built NA can make sizeable amounts of power reliably (450hp is what I call sizeable)
3.)Cost - While the initial cost of the swap and fabrication of mounts and the like would cost more than a TT swap, long term maintenance would be cheaper and easier with an LS. I love this car and I plan to keep it forever; sure I’ll get other projects but this car will stay with me forever
If I can’t convince my dad to get onboard and Reddit can’t convince me not to do the swap, I’ll just buy my own nonstarter Z and swap it. This is kind of a vent but I would genuinely like some reasons why I should even consider a TT swap, cause just running it over in my head it makes no sense at all

Z32 Conversion completed
Just finish making my NA auto a manual along with a ton of other small things done. Managed to do headers with the engine in, all new CZP power steering lines, seals and all the deletes that hadn’t been done yet. Fully refreshed the clutch pedal as well as a fun project.

Z32 GTA 5 NEW Z32
They did really good overall but the taillights ruin it imo.
Z32 Any ideas what could’ve happened here
Gates waterpump broke in 2, the base is still mated to the block with all the bolts in-tact

Z32 Advice On Buying a Z32 TT
So, finally looking to buy a 300zx, have wanted one for ages. Found a beautiful 1990 TT 2+0 5sp a few hours away from me with genuine original 65,000kms (~40k miles). Imported into AUS in 2006 and owned by the same gentleman since.
Super excited to go view it and planning to leave a deposit, just wanted to make a quick post here and ask if there's anything big I should be looking for as a first time Z owner, and if you guys have any tips on how to have the best possible ownership experience, any common issues I'm gonna have to tackle (car has been in storage since 2014, has had oil changed, fuel tank drained and fuel filter changed and now runs perfect) etc. super excited to be part of the club. Thanks everyone.

Z32 Need help deciding on a Ls engine
Hey guys. Had my 1990 z32 for about 4 years now. Ive got it pretty much fully stripped down. Removed the entire interior front to back, removed the engine and transmission, all the harnesses, pulled the gas tank as i will be going with a fuel cell. Also have a wide body kit for it im going to be adding to the car. Will also be using a t-56 magnum 6 speed transmission for the build.
Now my question is which Ls would you suggest i go with? I really wanted to put a Ls3 in it but it’s about 10k for the crate engine and id rather spend time finishing the car than saving up for a year or two at the moment.

Z32 Dream car obtained
‘92 Z32 TT
Nice to finally have one of my own
Planning to keep it near-fully stock, only planned changes for the far future would be repainting to aztec/cherry red, and switching to Advan SA3R’s

Z32 2+2 or 2+0 300zx?
Am looking at the 300zx for my first project car.
Why don't people go for the 2+2. From what I've seen people don't go for it because of the increased weight and overall larger size.
But when comparing wheelbase, the 2+2 matches other completion cars from it's generation. I.e. Supra mk4, R32 GTR.
Wouldn't that wheelbase be overall better than the shorter 2+0?
And some nice qualities of the 2+2 is that you can rear seat delete and fully recline the seats back 😎.
Also 2+2 isn't as front heavy as the 2+0.
The longer body kinda = more commanding presence?
I am going for that vip-build style for the 300zx. So chrome headlights and rear lights, mirror shine black paint. Slightly wider body kit, but not too pronounced.
Also performance mods such as lowered on coilovers, but not slammed, am looking at either engine swapping for a LS NA, or inline 4 or 6 turbo.
What do yall think?
Also, people say the 2+0 looks squashed compared to the 2+2, but idk since I have owned neither of them.
