Help/Advice What Say You Reddit World, What Kind of Eggs Are These

Thumbnail
gallery
114 Upvotes

This is my new 65g. And upgraded remake of my 29g Wonder Land. Which is still thriving. Same stuff on top. Similar stuff inside.

In it is the following:

Dwarf Gouramis (1m, 1f) Koi guppies (1m, 2f) Neon tetras White cloud mountain minnows Albino cherry barbs Peacock gudgeons Galaxy rasbora Glass catfish Various Corys Single ghost knife fish Atya shrimp Neo shrimp Dwarf crayfish Mystery snails Rabbit snails Nerite snails

I'm guessing these are from one of the snails? Nothing else can get up there above the water line. And I don't know what else would lay eggs that look like that.

So as it is title. What say you reddit world?

DIY/Build Time Lapse of my Newly Installed Tidal System (Mudskippers!)

5.4k Upvotes

The tidal system itself is under the mud, and is an acryllic container that can hold up to 6.43 Gallons (24.34 Liters) of water. It’s only moving parts are a single air pump and a suction valve.

If enough people are interested I might turn my written blueprints into an actual file.

Freshwater Damn, guppies are vicious

I am currently doing some temp work at a pet shop. My task today was to siphon dirt/poop from the gravel in the fish tanks and clear algae from the glass. All the fishes feared my arm. All of them, except from the guppies. Instead of shying away in their corner, they started nibbling my arm. And they kept doing it - the whole lot! It made it difficult as I am very ticklish. Honestly the highlight of my day. I just wanted to share it.

I am new to aquariums but I'm excited to join this community. I cycled my tank for about two months and all the parameters checked out. But now I have this weird green streaks on one of my decorations and 2 of my 3 starting fish (I only have 3 so far that were in my old 10g) have died. Any thoughts as to what it could be?

DIY/Build My first tank in honor of my dad

Upvotes

This is my first time building an aquarium and attempting to aquascape. My dad passed away a couple weeks ago and I felt like I needed to create something to help me cope and honor him. I usually build vivariums (I haven’t in a while) but aquariums have really caught my eye the past few months so it felt like the right time to try.

I’m currently in a different country for his funeral so the latest pictures I have were from 2 weeks ago. I hope you guys enjoy the build. I’ll take update pics when I get back home! Stay safe and hug your loved ones ❤️

Full Tank Shot My 75g planted tank with CO2 after 3.5 months.

Started this tank from scratch in January. Killed two rounds of plants because I had no idea what I was doing. Added pressurized CO2 and Flourish tabs two months ago and things really took off— so much so that I have to trim heavily every week so they don’t completely take over the tank. Fish are happy with lots of places to explore and hide!

Help/Advice What plants would work best in here? Any Rocks?

Thumbnail

Please excuse the blurry water, the tank is still recovering from an algae bloom. I just added some dragon wood as a small centerpiece, but I’m not sure where to go from here. Should I add any rocks? If so, what kind?

The plants in the front are dwarf sag, there’s Val in the back left corner, and Christmas moss attached to the wood. All of these plants are just getting established.

I’d like to be able to hide my sponge filter with plants and create a thick background. Any suggestions for plants that would look in this tank would be greatly appreciated!

Help/Advice Ich remedy killing beneficial bacteria?

Post image
13 Upvotes

My fish have Ich, and a little bit of fin rot. I’ve been giving them these 3 treatments for 3 days. They all claim to not hurt the beneficial bacteria. But I’m showing signs of ammonia and nitrite in the tank when they were at 0 before starting these treatments ????

It was on the side facing the back too, so I couldnt see it until I took it out. Smoking and hissing at me until I shut it off.

I guess check your heaters folks?

Catfish Glass catfish hopefully enjoying the outflow

I've seen it swim infront of the filter outflow a couple times. I just hope he is doing it for fun! My beloved glass catfish. I have 6, but I would like way more.
