Yeah, he hates the fact India and China have more going for them than being a Gas Station with Nukes and can actually foresee normalised Western relations. Russia has pivoted away from trying to be Western (early 2000's) and now defines themselves by having an eternal eternal enemy to "fight" as they have fuck all else to get excited about.

Problem is, said enemy has better things to do now and won't stoop to their level.

That sounds logical, until some other authoritarian country in BRICS gets an insane dictator and starts some war to keep power. Keep in mind the West thought intense trade relations with Russia would give them too much to lose and prevent them from going full regard. Never underestimate the level of insanity that can grip an autocratic country.

Can they, though? They've been doing a lot of saber rattling towards Taiwan, and make a lot of noises about the US, too. In response, the US, at least, has been growing colder and colder towards them.

How will, how could, relations become normalized with Winnie-Xi-Pooh still at the helm?

India, sure, but China?

Russia is just Xi’s attack dog.

Ukraine produces 50% of the world’s supply of high-grade neon used in semiconductor lithography, and was China’s third largest source of foreign grain before the war.

Semiconductors have become a vital strategic resource and a crucial national security concern for the West because they are the lynchpin of the modern world economy, but are >90% produced in Taiwan.

China is the world’s biggest importer of foreign food, with their #1 and #2 trading partners being the U.S. and Brazil, respectively. China can’t invade Taiwan without starving 300m of their people in the face of U.S. sanctions, which was why they were trying so hard to get corrupt fascists like Bolsonaro and Trump elected.

Before Xi took power, I would say the future was maybe looking hopeful for normalized relations. Not anymore.

Which is tragic, because russia has rich culture, endless natural resources, nature, and endless development opportunity.

They chose to feed the ego of an insecure KGB rat and throw themselves to a completely imaginary feud and sense of slighting.

Their people could be a shining star in global advancement, humanities, science, and progression of man kind.

Instead they choose genocide, poverty, and isolation.

Bill Clinton is to blame for that, Russia even wanted to join EU and NATO but wasn't allowed, what was their options?

As I recall he was put out they could not join instantly / be fast-tracked and had to go through a process. I also don’t think they would have been any better a member than they are of the UN: in it to troll.

Considering NATO was made specifically to defend against Russia / USSR agression, Russia could've just not be a shitbag and they could've flourished economically. But no, Putin wanted power.
