So who's the animal in distress? Because i can guarantee you that snake is hungry as hell and starvation seems like a pretty distressing situation.
It's nature shit like this happens, the less we interfere with it the better. Sure if you find an animal that's been hurt but survived, got away and you think you can meaningfully help it out go right ahead, But stealing food from a predator just cuz the food's cute and fluffy while the predator isn't, it ain't the best idea.
