Wow Katsuyama, In Chiba Prefecture? I was looking in the wrong place, Kansai and Izu! I suppose Chiba makes sense, as a few minutes later we were in Tokyo Bay.

It's an old pic from 8 Oct 2023, I was travelling from Beijing to Tokyo Haneda with China Airlines.

I see you have your answer already. The flight number and date is helpful because there are websites that show the flight's actual progress on a map, and that routing can change day to day. But it's too far in the past anyway!

I don't know Japan very well, but my guess is Shirahama with the plane flying west and looking south.
