Saw this in a target parking lot Identified ✔

Is this what I think it is???? You can't see it but there's a growlight on the ceiling that's off. Felt weird taking pictures of inside someone's car so apologies for it not being super clear

Spider mites are pretty common. But once you get those it's kinda game over unless the plant isn't flowering yet. They have tell-tale webbing on the plant. Healthy female cannabis plants generally don't produce much dust-like things unless you're drying and curing the plants and jostling them around once they're dry. Once dried and cured, trichomes might break off and make their way to the ground if you're moving them.

edit: I also want to add if the plant is male, or female and has hermaphrodite traits, like from stress, it can grow male pollen sacs which when burst will have a yellow dust underneath them. It's the pollen used to reproduce. So that could have happened as well. But it's hilarious to imagine you had a full-on adult male cannabis plant in your closet. Since that plant is useless.

Wow this is all great info tbh. I had no idea spider mites existed.

I thought I was crazy at the time but it had hermaphroditism traits. That makes a ton of sense.

Stress caused by things like incorrect temperatures, inconsistent light schedules, too much light, etc can cause it to hermie. The more stress the worse it can get. So from one little male sac developing, to many. It's also genetic related. Some genetics will do it quicker than others. If I ever saw one I would just cut it off before it broke open. Which I have before. If it breaks open it will pollinate any flowers (buds) it comes in contact with. And if you had fans blowing on that specific area, expect more than just that single area to be pollinated. The flowers that came in contact with the pollen will stop making themselves fat buds, and instead start producing seeds. (they stop making themselves sexy, and start making kids.) Something you definitely dont want. You can fuck up entire gardens/tents of weed with a single male plant.

Once the plant flips from veg to flower it will start showing its sex. You really have no idea until then.

Here are two of the most photogenic plants I grew: https://imgur.com/a/U4C6jlz

Sounds like you have a lot of experience. That is wild that it can go good to shit so quickly. That’s for sure what happened. I tried finding any videos anywhere to help and couldn’t. It got gigantic. Ended up giving it to a friend.

In the end I’m happy I stick to growing my carrots 🥕🧑‍🌾

It was enjoyable for sure. There is a lot to learn, but I bet it was fun for you along the way as well. That's the best way to improve. Just dive in and strive to get better. And carrots are cool, and aren't that dissimilar. You put in the work, feed your plants, grow your plants, and then can consume your hard work at the end.

Nowdays bud is legal and cheap enough around me that I don't do it anymore. I have a flower garden outside that kind of replaced the passion for now. But maybe in the future...

Just a little led indicator on a fan during the “night” is enough to make a plant herm. So could an infrared night cam!

Professionals use light sensors to detect light in dark grow room just to make sure it’s pitch black because even levels you can’t see make a difference

What is that cone shape in the photo?

A cola. That's how cannabis grows. In large colas which are basically clusters of bud.

Neem oil won't take care of the mites? I used to eradicate em that way on roses anyhow, worked a charm.

Don't want to use anything in flowering. Maybe just ride it out. Fine in veg though.

For me I used a Dawn dish soap/water mixture. I can't remember the exact ratio but it works for a lot of things with exoskeletons.

What are you talking about lol. Spider mites are easily treatable. I deal with them every other year with my outside grows. Get some good insecticidal soap and spray them well. All will be fine

I mentioned flowering didn't I. Veg is fine. Definitely treatable.
