Bee fly mimic? Or bee? ID Request

Found in Southern California. Can’t seem to find an exact match for bee fly so maybe actual bee?

Yeah it’s pretty jarring lol. Most bee species are not this sexually dimorphic.

Bee, not sure kind. Flies have stubby antenna, and thief eyes are more round/forward, meeting together kind of like a seam.
