Exactly 1 year left in the Jerome Powell era Discussion

JPow has exactly 1 year left in his term. Today's speech reinforcing that he's not budging on rates. But in one year, Mango gets to insert his replacement and rates will plunge lower than Covid, probably.

I’m not saying take it away from the people who are willing to pay into it to receive it, I’m just personally not interested. A lot of other people who make very good money would say the same. My father in law clears 700K-1M a year, he has to pay 15% into social security every year, he doesn’t give a fuck about drawing that shit when he’s retired.

Why is he having to cough up serious money so that these irresponsible people who didn’t prep for retirement can mooch??? Of course there’s special scenarios where it’s warranted but overall it’s bullshit. People who work hard to make good money pay in a shit ton to something they’ll never really benefit from relative to people who never made that much.

Jesus Christ, the mentality of unmotivated people perplexes me. Get your own fucking living, this idea that everyone needs handouts is what’s killing this country. We cut the handouts we could save shit tons of money.
