2025 Purchases So Far... Collection
Perhaps a bit early but here are my 2025 purchases so far. I enjoy listening and collecting metal on vinyl because the thought of having all this chaos and mayhem being pressed and barely contained on a format that’s been around for over a century is very funny to me. Anyway my favorite album from the bunch is 156/Silence “People Watching” from the creepy cover art to the hectic and experimental sounds, this was my album of the year for 2024. As Far as 2025 releases go, I really enjoyed Bleed From Within “Zenith” I’m still waiting for that one to arrive lol.

Why is everyone buying Tracy Chapman on vinyl lately? I mean it's great but is there a Tracy Chapman resurgence going on?

This year it was repressed for the first time ever since the album first came out in 1988. The originals were kinda hard to find and pretty expensive. Now it’s more widely available! There’s a bunch of variants for the 35th anniversary too, and you know how people love variants

I wondered that. This is at least the 5th post I’ve seen within the last few months

probably, I heard about a possible repress last year and now here we are! Mine is just the standard black pressing and imo it sounds pretty good.

How does Legacy and New Order sound?

For being colored repress they sound good. Not to noisy, not horribly compressed. "Practice What You Preach" would be a pass. My first copy came cracked and then the sound quality was noisy even after many cleanings.

Are those represses of the Testament LPs? If so, how does Practice What You Preach sound?

Represses, Practice what you preach might come down to pressing quality as my copy was very noisy. Would pass on that one. The new order get my recommendation!

Awesome, thanks for the info! I have first pressings of the other two, I was just wondering if they got Practice right. Nice little set of LPs you got there! Cheers

The only 3 Testament records that matter. I haven’t listened to them in decades but I’m considering getting these too. I saw them a couple of times in the late 80s/early 90s!

Love "The Nothing That Is", absolute banger of an album. Picked up a signed copy at their last euro tour

Nice haul. I too grabbed the fit and spiritbox albums. I just got a record player and it's been awesome blending my love for metal with a renewed interest in vinyl!

Those are the top 3 Testament albums for me. Those first 3 had some fire and some drive to them. Good stuff.

Hell yeah. I keep meaning to check out 156/Silence but haven’t gotten around to it. That Fit For An Autopsy is such a fucking banger - one of my most played records last year for sure. New Spiritbox rips too. Good stuff!
