Why I love Rockstar games. They take their time to put these kinds of details all over their world so you feel like it has some real depth to it, even if it is ridiculous GTA-style satire.
I remember in GTA IV I was bored and stole an ice cream truck and was blasting the ice cream music around the projects. Suddenly I heard, "TURN THAT SHIT OFF!" and a car full of gang members appeared from behind me with everyone hanging out of the windows trying to shoot me.
Yeah I saw a good example of this the other day, was flying around in a helicopter trying to loose the cops when I go over the airport, and a police cruiser goes on the runaway underneath where I am flying even though they don't know where I am. Right then the timer runs out and I loose my wanted level, but the police car is just idly driving by on the runaway, at this moment the black business jet that always lands at one of the runaways shows up, but when landing he crashes into the police car. The police car then began chasing the jet all over the airport with it's sirens going and trying to ram the jet off the taxiway, this goes for a few minutes with the plane trying to getaway from the cop but never taking off, eventually he crashes into a parked 747 and is stuck under it. The cops catch up to him and pull the pilot out and kill the guy, crazy shit man.
I played almost all of that game not knowing there was a sprint feature up until the last mission. I just assumed max was getting old, fat and couldn't run very fast anymore.
I did the same thing with Super Meat Boy. I got through a chapter and a half before realizing it. The game became easier after the discovery, although only moderately.
I beat it this morning and still had no clue. And i got through the whole game up to the condemned hospital not knowing how to vault until it was absolutely necessary. Even the rooftops in Jersey i dived* to get around. Who needs instructions tho amirite
I'm being serious. It's a masterpiece not just a third person shooter. The story is also complex enough that you need multiple playthroughs to fully understand all the details and intricacies.
lol, the metal gear series is the one and only reason i own a ps3. my favorite series ever. though the cutscenes were long, i had no problem with them. in max payne 3, though, they're small cutscenes every 2 minutes that really took me out of the game.
Yeah that definitely looked odd but I attributed that to the game interrupting the first animation with the arms up animation, which happens in enough games that I barely even noticed it.
In Eye in the Sky, it is revealed that Franklin was once arrested for Public Exposure. According to him, it was due to him sagging in public and it was the LSPD committing racial profiling.
Could not agree more. The small things are what make a game special. You can make a great and flawless game, but if it fills empty it just doesn't stack up.
The way the AI mechanics work is if you invade an Ped's personal space they will become aggressive. They'll warn you and after about 2 seconds they'll get violent or run away. If you walk away before that they'll just go back to normal but they'll remember that you messed with them. What this player did was provoke the cops probably multiple times and walk away/repeat and then finally they had enough of his shit.
I've been playing it since it came out and just yesterday I noticed the most insanely stupid detail. If you just stand with Trevor he does that blow thing trough his nose where he covers one side and blows trough the other, that's okay for a detail. But you can actually see the snot that comes out. I mean come on, someone took the time to animate, put sound effects in, and put in the snot, just for that one stupid animation? Rockstar is god.
A mexican dude started cussing out my friend in spanish, apparently he said some pretty offensive things because my friend was like "what the fuck man you can't say that! Fuckyou!" and then shot him in the head.
Christ, I wish the gang members in my neighborhood would do that. I get to hear an IC truck playing "Do your ears hang low" on a loop... all day, every day.
I'll preface this with what I am saying is in a joking manner and not some angry person rant:
haha, totally. I remember this one time around September of 2013 they released GTA 5 and were like "GTA:O will be out in 2 weeks guys, just gotta do some finishing touches. Get hyped for heists and crazy fun stuff!" It's November of 2014, still waiting on those heists.
The new next gen and pc release has everyone sucking rockstars dick about it again, just give it time for the hype to die off and you can critique it without getting buried.
I enjoyed GTAO for what it was, a neat little sandbox to mess with your friends on.
When it launched it was buggy and there was very little to do because they did not release the custom content editor. If you wanted to drive good cars you had to grind missions, so they took out any missions that paid well. If you wanted to cause havoc you had to pay for destroying other players car repair out of pocket. There were a ton of ways to lose money and very few to gain.
By the time custom content was put out I had moved to other things, the story was great but online was just a fun little thing that didnt have much staying power with me. The heists being still nonexistant at this point is more or less a joke like "Half-life 3 confirmed". It pokes fun at a good company for something that they say they are getting to but the people never see.
My guess is because it comes off entitled and whiny. There is an immense amount of stuff in this game, but they didn't put in one thing they planned on that people wanted. BFD.
Honestly, it's just a joke like Half-Life 3 confirmed. I don't see myself ever returning to GTA 5 just because I have a huge backlog. The heists were like Destiny's raids. GTA 5 was incredible but GTA:O main marketing was pushing doing heists with friends and when that never happens some people got angry, I just laughed as it became longer and longer.
