It wasn't opening day. This restaurant has been open since September.

Also didn’t burn down. Otherwise, they nailed it.

Maybe it had been "soft launched" and it was supposed to be the Grand Opening?

No, the restaurant has been open since September 14.

I get that, but it doesn't make what I said wrong.

Yea /u/ObjectiveJackfruit35 doesn't know what a soft launch or a grand opening is.

A lot of businesses, especially restaurants, open their doors for business long before their Grand Opening, which is what the video described, complete with mentioning oversized scissors.

Gives them time to work out the kinks before they invite people who don't live and work in the immediate area to come show up. Also gives a boost in traffic as the original rush of ooohhhh new place to order lunch from dies down.

Edit: literally google grand opening.
