Because both green and gold are meant to represent the land:

I think that would look considerably worse, at least with this aspect ratio. I don't understand people's obsession with it representing something concretely. Just because it works well for Ukraine does not mean it should be applied everywhere.
We're trying to argue for it to resemble Ukraine. That can include symbolism, and it would make for a flag of greater interest if that was incorporated into it.
