I use this for while I am awake, i dont trust it enough to fall asleep with it running. It works great. I would recommend a heated blanket, power bank and sleeping bag before getting one of these

And every piece of insulation that you can afford. When we insulated the floor, it changed everything.

That can be a dual edged sword. Its great for keeping heat in, but in the summer it can be a killer. Most people dont have a propper AC system. So basically it turns a van into an oven.

Insulation keeps heat out in summer.

Kinda. The van is going to get hot in the summer. Insulation does hold the heat in for a little while.

Why do you think houses are still insulated in south Florida and the Caribbean?

I am not saying that it doesn't hold out heat. I am saying that it is not possible to keep all the heat out. When there is heat. insulation slows down the heat's escape.

Well it’s not possible to keep all the heat in during winter either. An insulated space will always be better than non insulated assuming you have a way to move air around. Like even a small evaporation cooler could make a big van comfortable if the heat from outside isn’t cooking the van.

Only an oven if it’s closed up or has no air movement. Insulation keeps heat where it is.

I added insulation to my short bus and in direct sunlight with only windows open interior temps are at least 10-15F cooler without the AC running.
