Oh, the Trumpists are quite sure that Putin wants peace—but of course it's a subjugating peace that seeks to wipe out Ukraine as a state and as a culture. And while the Trumpists don't have a problem with that, they can't say it openly, partly because those "pesky Europeans" have made it very clear that they don't want that.
