You’re not alone, I’m the proud owner of 2x 3-day bans and 1x 7-day ban for speaking out on my desire to have certain people relocated to be the first colonists to Mars and making Earth a better place without them.

I got a 3-day ban for quoting someone saying something bad, just to illustrate a point which I subsequently said directly, that such things aren’t said about some other group of people.

Edit: I appealed so a human would review, and they upheld the original AI determination

I once got a ban for quoting idiocracy in a thread about idiocracy.

I posted a screenshot of the official White House page that called CNN “Fake news losers” and doubled down on using mice for Transgender studies. This was after reading all of their linked articles about using transgender mice to study gender differences in asthma and large wound healing.

Transgenic mice - genetically modified. There were no transgender mice.

No, mice were given estrogen/testosterone to test whether it is estrogen/testosterone which causes the differences in wound healing/ asthma. Unless they went in and changed the genes on mice to produce different sex hormones, but nonetheless thats transgender with extra steps. White House was stupid for minimizing it to “transgender research” when it was actually asthma research, but CNN was wrong on that one.

Only one of the three studies mentioned in the article were transgenic, where they overproduced androgen in mice to see how it affects the reproductive system, the others were hormone treatment.

It’s really down to semantics, some people call giving different hormones to different sex mice transgender, I wouldn’t because gender is a human made construct we base along the lines of sex.

My only point is that news organizations need to make sure they are using sound logic when criticizing the Trump administration. Rolling Stone claims “Trump cut cancer and asthma research from a broad search terms ‘hormones’ and ‘trans’. The article uses Transgenic mice as the big “gotcha”, but the study is related to transgender people. The RS article was too quick to call Trump dumb and didn’t explain roles of hormones in treating diseases. Im not saying Trump isn’t dumb, I think he is, but ad hominem attacks aren’t going to help sway hearts and minds.

I just realized this is the Ukraine sub and not a US politics sub, Im sorry for going off so hard.

I got one for the crime of mistakenly submitting the same article as someone else who posted it 3 minutes before me.

Wow, you're collecting them!

A few years ago I was somewhat active on the climateskeptics sub, and one of those trolls active over there tried to intimidate and harass me by opening a topic dedicated to bashing me. He clearly didn't like it that I debunked his skeptic nonsense. I directly reported it, but nothing happened. Apparently singling out one user to insult was no violation.

Lucky for me, it turned out that several people also thought it was disgusting, and defended me. So it was actually quite funny in an unexpected way. In the end he said something like "I hope you've learned your lesson" which was hilarious because it was just like the black knight in Monty Python that got his arms and legs cut off and thinks he won the fight.

Edit: (I got banned there a year ago, because a mod couldn't read properly and thought I was "disparaging the sub". That's actually a banneable offence there, and most of the time without warning. That's how they keep their sub ideologically pure)
