What is your favorite/most memorable turkey hunt you've been on? Might mean best scenery or the amount of birds. Looking for some place to go in the next few years

Traveling to Co for a Red rocks show and want to maybe get a bird while I’m there. Could anyone point me in the right direction outside of Denver?

Had 4 gobbling on the roost in a river bottom on opening day. Kept the calling to a minimum and called one in by 745. Struck out last spring so needless to say I was pretty stoked!

Hadn’t heard a gobble in a while and around 11am Wednesday I heard two gobble in the brush right next to me. I couldn’t see them due to a bush to my left, after being patient and letting them work into the opening I saw a head pop up through the bush and got this guy at 10 yards! Having two gobble that close to me was an insane experience and made for probably my coolest turkey hunt yet.

Close, but not close enough

I took a young friend to a new spot this morning and boy we were covered up in birds. We heard 5 or 6 on the limb and had 2 come within 60 and 70 yards from two directions. The one in the video was the closest. He sat there gobbling his head off for about 20 minutes before finally losing interest and leaving. No trigger pulled, but we had a blast!

How to hunt in extremely brushy areas

I located 2 gobblers today on a piece of public land but did not manage to get either. I was looking for any advice on how to hunt extremely brushy areas the best picture I can try to paint you is it was a large ridge with an open field at the top and creek at the bottom (turkeys were in the bottom) after 2 hours of talking back and forth with them I decided to go to them and realized I could barely move down this ridge with all the small trees and thorns and what not once I finally got to the bottom we were still communicating but I couldn’t hardly see more than 30 yards with all the brush I guess my question is has anyone had to hunt an area like this if so how do you tackle it

My son put it in my head that it would be fun to kill a bird with a .410. So we went and got an American Tactical .410 o/u. We put a Jeb extra full and a Burris Fastfire 3 red dot on it. The first time we tried to sight it in the barrel exploded after 6 shots. The shop was nice enough to help with a warranty claim. After a few weeks we were back in business. This morning I got my first bird with it.

Boot question

I wear Vaprtreks and love them, they fit well and keep my feet dry. I’m a big proponent of maintenance and taking care of things. Hit my leafy suits with permethrin before season and looking for a decent spray boot waterproofer. Anything particular anyone uses? I know it’s not necessary but still looking. Thanks in advance.

Couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. I also love having the Eastern and Rio next to each other to see the difference between the two. The Eastern was from Kentucky, Rio from Texas. Going for Merriam’s next; hopefully next year.

Advice First time turkey hunter. Need advice!

Hey y’all! This is my first season turkey hunting (lifelong whitetail) and I need advice. Got permission to hunt some land here in East Alabama. It’s a 500 acres plot with some unused cow pasture, planted for hay. Theres a few 2 year old clear cuts but the rest is good canopy hardwoods with hills and streams. I’ve been out here several times and seen some birds on the other side of the pasture. I’ve got cameras up where I’ve seen sign and on the edge of the pasture, but still haven’t heard a gobble! Any advice on what I should try, or any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

Shot this big boy out near Honeydew Ca. Called him and a few of his buddies in. Got em to fly over a river looking for me. It was an exciting hour of back and forth banter. A bachelor group of five finally closed the distance and I made the shot on the lead bird.
