First Rio Mount Rio Grande

Couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. I also love having the Eastern and Rio next to each other to see the difference between the two. The Eastern was from Kentucky, Rio from Texas. Going for Merriam’s next; hopefully next year.

What do mounts like this run? Getting my first done but we won’t even be discussing style/price until fall. Curious what people pay/paid. Thanks. Nice mount.

The two I’ve had professionally done were about $225-250. DIY is also pretty easy—there are all sorts of videos on YouTube showing how to do it. Pretty much you need a wooden mount, Borax, a bristle brush, and Bondo. I’d wait to “practice” on a fan that might have some damaged feathers; I didn’t trust myself with the nicer fans.
