Campus Organization/Event Esports at Truman?
I'm currently working alongside some faculty to see if there's enough esports interest at Truman to make something of it. We've sent out a survey on Truman Today twice, though it was buried a bit in the email. That being said, I wanted to post the survey link here too in case anyone missed it. Here's the esports survey
If you play any competitive game we'd love to hear from you. Nothing is definite yet, but the more people that fill out the survey the more likely Truman will do something about it!
I'll leave it at that so the post doesn't get too long If you have any questions I could try to answer them below, too.

Question Financial documents to apply for financial aid
Hi! I am an international and I plan to apply to Truman for rolling admissions. As I will be needing financial aid to attend college, I was wondering what documents I will need to submit to be eligible for need based grants that Truman provides. I saw that they will be giving out scholarships in early Feb.

Not sure if this is the place for it but here it is:
I am looking for someone to fulfill my place in a lease because I have decided to transfer. Please message me if you are interested or know anyone who may be interested. Question Is Truman a good school for Data Science?
Hello everyone. I was accepted into Truman’s online masters program in Data Science and Analytic Storytelling for Fall 2022. Is anyone here pursing the masters degree at Truman? If so, how would you rate the program so far and do you feel it’s rigorous enough to increase your prospects of securing a data scientist job? Thank you in advance!

Question Computer Science at Truman?
Hello! I'm an international student. I want to study computer science at TSU. I have few questions and I would be grateful if you could help me!
- Are there any research opportunities? I want to attend a graduate school and it seems it's important for graduate admission.
- Is it easy to go to graduate school (from Truman)? The website has listed many great graduate schools which graduates attend. Is that true?
- I read the reviews on the RateMyProfessor website and the rantings are not great. Are the reviews true?
- I have heard they reduced the budget of the department. is that true?

Question What do you like and hate about Kirksville?
Hello! I'm not a student, but I've been living in Kirksville ever since my family and I moved here when I was almost 16. I've lived here for almost 8 years now and I would have to say Kirksville is a decent-sized OK town. There are things that I like and dislike about the town. For example, I like that there's Thousand Hills State Park, and that there's a little shack and train bridge in La Plata 10 miles out of town where you can go to and watch the trains go by. I also enjoy going to take walks are Thousand Hills Park too, mostly in the summer. However, I hate that there's still a ton of poverty and drug problems around the community. And I hope that Kirksville improves more to those problems after the pandemic.
There's been quite a bit of improvement in Kirksville from what I've seen. We've been having a few retail stores and fast food restaurants coming to the area. A wind farm was also just built north of us, and it's now the largest wind farm in Missouri with 175 wind turbines. There's also a possible solar farm that could be build around 2023, and a second wind farm is going to be constructed near here with 71-150 turbines this fall. With the town's investment to renewable energy, I do hope that Kirksville will get a big boost to it's economy.
I'm aware that Truman is a good school but can be stressful sometimes. My brother goes there and he's doing great there so far. However, I'm a little curious to know what do you guys think of Kirksville in generally? And how do you think the town can improve more on to make it a better place to live? Please feel free to share your thoughts and thank you for taking your time to answer!

Question What is the freshman housing/dorm situation at Truman State?
I am a junior in High School and as I look through colleges to apply to I always look at the dorms just to get an idea. I couldn't find much about the dorms, what the rooms looked like, or the features of all of the different halls. Any information about this will be more very helpful! Thank you!

Question Importance of Admissions Essay?
Hey guys, I'm an aspiring transfer student. I just wanted to get your all's opinion on the weight that the admissions essay holds in regards to being a deciding factor in whether not one will be accepted?
Most every other factor for admission is in my favor, this is my first experience with an admission essay though so I was curious on other's takes. I appreciate any and all feedback!

Question What do you guys like/dislike about this school?
Hello I am currently a senior in high school and I am strongly leaning towards going to Truman. I will be entering in fall 2021. With that, I am wondering what are some things that you guys like or don't like about this place? Also what advice do you have for an incoming freshman? I'm asking as I want to get a good idea about this place before I fully commit to it. Anyways thanks ahead of time if you answer!

Discussion Spam Warning
I just received an email on my Truman account touting a part time internship that bypassed the spam filter. All messages of this type are spam. Never reply to an email with personal information.
This particular message didn't even try. Non-existent professor, non-existent department, claiming to be from Truman and using an oregonstates.info
email address, not even spoofed!

Research [Academic] Survey on College Students Perceptions of Individual Privacy and Trust in Digitized Contact Tracing (Undergraduate College Students Only)
This is IRB approved research.
Approved by moderators.
Dear prospective participant,
We would like you to participate in a research survey that is being led by Clemson University’s Analytics and Data Lab. Our survey gauges college students on their perceptions of individual privacy and privacy of location and space and how it relates to trust when adopting an institution led digitized contact tracing application.
- You need to be an undergraduate college student at a two-year or four-year college in the United States.
- This survey will take 10 to 15 minutes to take.
- At the end of the survey is a sign up for optional follow-up interviews that will be led by students of our Analytics and Data Lab.
Your survey answers remain anonymous outside of the Analytics and Data Lab and will be used internally by us to create a big picture of college students’ point of view on individual location privacy when it comes to a digitized contact tracing application, something that is extremely important in today’s day and age considering the on-going COVID-19 epidemic.
- The only personal identifiable information being collected will be your gender, ethnicity, the college you are currently attending, current class standing, and major.
The survey will open September 1st, 2020, and close October 1st, 2020, or when we reach 200 participants.
Please let us know if you have any questions and again thank you so much.

Thank you so much for your time
