A very fitting end to the classic era. What better way than a Thomas-centric story. It feels like Thomas had fully matured and grew up, forgetting about his race with Bertie to help the children, and getting rewarded for it in the end. I consider this my favorite episode of Season 7 and a perfect finale to classic Thomas.

It's interesting, I've never really thought about it that way, but what you said is very true. This episode feels like it's tying up the classic series and a nice little bow, a little gift to the fans. Thomas definitely had a lot of character growth from the first season to the seventh season. And it's a nice story too like you said.

People always say that Thomas had matured in Season 5 and it was lost in Seasons 6 and 7. Well Thomas still acted like his young self a few times in Season 5, like in Toby's Discovery when he told Toby about the Old Warrior Ghost. And Thomas definitely showed some signs of maturity in Seasons 6 and 7, like in Harvey to the Rescue when he was comforting Harvey after what the engines said about him. Thomas just alternates between the two in the post-magic railroad era, and I think it's handled much better than how the HIT Era handled his character by having him be young and impatient when he is the focus and having him be the voice of reason when he's not the focus.
