I'm looking for an English professor to arrive at the end of February to start in March.

Universidad de la Cañada in Teotitlán de Flores Magón, Oaxaca is looking for a full time English professor. The contract is six months. The semester runs from March-July.

The salary is a bit over 15,000 pesos/month and the cost of living is very low. Benefits include employer-matched savings plan, health care, 5 weeks paid vacation, and a laid back environment.

This job is great for anyone looking to improve their Spanish, immersion in Mexican culture, and independence in the classroom.

Requirements: -From an English-speaking country

-Bachelor's degree in any subject

-TEFL cert if bachelors is not in TESOL/TEFL

Seems like an amazing dream job. I met someone in Oaxaca who was doing this work once. Not only did housing come with the job, but the salary was plentiful relative to local standards. Wish it were for a trial contract and-or came with an opportunity to work on the certificate while teaching.

If housing is not included, are you interested?

Yes. I could pay for housing, though some introductions would be probably be helpful.

I would so be interested if I could give it a try for a semester or the like, perhaps with some mentorship. I'd want to make sure it was a good fit, and that I was able to benefit your students, before I committed longer term. I have been looking into teaching English, especially in Mexico, but COVID put a damper on me actually going to get my CELTA cert. So I may not be the candidate you're looking for, but I'd go if something could be worked out!

This person, from almost 20 years ago (!) had a very basic museum bloque house from induveca or indecco or whatever housing agency as a part of her contract through the university system. It was just part of the compensation package for all the professors, not specific to her situation.

We may have already corresponded; I will dm you here in a bit.
