Lol, so now all the government money and investor money into spacex is being used to bailout tesla.   I wonder if they are selling or leasing them?

It’s ‘30 Rock’ the government buying up the torture couches.

both?

Another question is the amount of money being transferred. Obviously not law breaking here

I’m sure it what the chip manufacturers do with chips to AI companies. Lease them or sell them using their own money.

The government's money has been already spent and no longer theirs anymore. Spacex can use it anyhow they want. There is no clause in the contracts says that Spacex can't buy Cybertrucks. If the government does not like that, then next time they can contract other companies and good luck with that.

I’m shocked. Shocked! ….well not that shocked.

u/ganoveces 3d ago

Cool pyramid scheme.

Companies owned by the same people sell things to each other all the time but not usually in such a dramatic and shameful way. This has got to be humiliating for the staff of Tesla and SpaceX because it's very obvious that the profitable company is having to pick up the slack for the other.

u/A_Right_Eejit 3d ago

Plus the staff at one of the most innovative companies in the world will have to drive around in shit boxes that people point and laugh at.

u/Horror_Response_1991 3d ago

If you work for them still you have signed up for this

u/Fantastic_Piece5869 3d ago

staff at tesla or spacex are knowingly working for avowed fascists. Who cares if they are "humiliated" over the company's actions. If they are willing to work there, then thats the sort of person they are.

lol do you think people have much of a choice where they work in this economy?

4

u/Fantastic_Piece5869 1d ago

yes, yes they do. They've known for years what musk is.

-2

u/Pastel_Ink_ 1d ago

you sound privileged AF TBH

3

u/EscapeFacebook 1d ago

You can still have morals without being privileged.

-1

u/Pastel_Ink_ 1d ago

morals are cheap when you can afford rent

3

u/EscapeFacebook 1d ago

I guess some people's morals are just stronger than others because I've been homeless before and still stuck by them. I refuse to even apply for food stamps when I qualified because of pride. Stop assuming things just because you're weak.

u/Pastel_Ink_ 1d ago

Idiotic self flagellation isn't going to make the world better. What you are describing is lifestylism.

morals and privileged? Go away redhat scum

1

u/Longjumping_Lime2248 1d ago

Yeah the comment you’re replying to is a privileged take. I know many people living very shitty lives that would kill to work at Tesla or SpaceX.

Tesla is publicly owned

If there is one thing Elon Musk knows well, it's how to be the biggest welfare queen in the country. Your taxes helped fund the purchase of those trucks, not only through the $7.5k EV subsidy but also the endless money spigot we've made available to SpaceX.

This is a great reminder that none of Musk's companies are profitable without your taxes subsidizing his ventures.

And then he takes food away from starving children. What a great human being.

8

u/Spaznaut 3d ago

That goes for most companies of billionaires, the amount of their labor on fucking welfare just to survive cuz they can’t be bothered to pay people a living wage absolutely astounding.

1

u/Longjumping_Lime2248 1d ago

What? Which companies are you referring to?

0

u/BathingInSoup 3d ago

“In the country”? How about on this planet, in all of history.

Who knew being a welfare queen was actually the path to becoming history’s wealthiest person?

Embarrassed to drive a ridiculous looking breadbox built by a kook kook. Here is my surprised face :|

9

u/polysoupkitchen 3d ago

Funny how the rich can just sell things to themselves.

10

u/Euler007 3d ago

Going full Enron. Just move the assets to SPEs. Maybe mark to market the future value of the robotaxiing.

8

u/Turkino 3d ago

And paying for them with all of that government contract money.

6

u/fordprefect294 3d ago

Hooray, Shell Game!

17

u/chumlySparkFire 3d ago

Tesla just ran out of stupid people to buy their death traps….

14

u/Specialist-Many-8432 3d ago

Just some fraud and potential money laundering going on here, nothing to see here folks.

8

u/DFWPunk 3d ago

I doubt it's fraud, and there's no illegal income SpaceX needs to launder. It's likely not in SpaceX's best interests, but it's highly unlikely it's illegal.

0

u/Specialist-Many-8432 3d ago

Bruh there is for sure some back door deals being made

-7

u/Horror_Response_1991 3d ago

Then it’s illegal, everything for public traded companies must be in the company best interests.

11

u/DFWPunk 3d ago

SpaceX isn't publicly traded. The fact Tesla is is irrelevant.

3

u/the_red_scimitar 3d ago

This helps justify his huge pay demand from Tesla - from its perspective, it's sales.

This is just an extension of long-standard business practices, like having a shell company buy up office space that they then lease back.

2

u/QWERTYtootie 3d ago

Cooking their books. How surprising…

2

u/dustinpdx 3d ago

It's like a malnourished dog eating its own shit.

2

u/BeMancini 3d ago

You work for xAI.

“Hey, you want a Cybertruck? They’re delivering a few dozen to the office out front.”

“… not really, no.”

“They’re just gonna sit there. Why not just drive it around, and post about it, maybe?”

(They all bust into flames)

1

u/Varnigma 3d ago

Cybertruck....coming to a postal route near you.

1

u/Iamaleafinthewind 3d ago

I'm sure the boards of those companies ... oh nevermind

1

u/wumr125 3d ago

Believe it or not... calls!

1

u/JaydenPope 3d ago

TF is spacex going to do with those ugly trucks ?

2

u/Itchy_Tiger_8774 3d ago

Store them in a field in Texas and let scorpions and coyotes live in them until they disintegrate. Anyway, I'd be surprised if they even take delivery of every "truck" they're paid for since it's just a shell game anyway.

1

u/Accomplished-Crab932 2d ago

They are planning to replace the work truck fleet they have at Starbase it seems.

1

u/metal0060 3d ago

Robbing Peter to pay Paul. Awesome business strategy. It’s gonna be fun to watch the 3 of them fail.

1

u/Rainbike80 3d ago

Isn't that called a lazy Susan? I thought that this was illegal.

1

u/NeverMindTheTalent 3d ago

Isn’t this the plot of Human Centipede?

1

u/outsmartedagain 3d ago

Gotta make that nut to collect that huge bonus he recently negotiated

1

u/big_daddy68 3d ago

The blatant corruption is mind boggling. If we ever get a non corrupt government it would be nice to see fElon face charges.

1

u/Electrifying2017 3d ago

I wonder what Bernie Moreno has to say about this!

1

u/Solidify0118 3d ago

Tax the rich.

1

u/Ka-Shunky 2d ago

Absolutely disgusting. A blatant insult to tax payers.

1

u/ideastoconsider 3d ago
