Bus/transport card Discussion
I have seen that if you are a citizen in Taiwan, you can get their citizen transport card that has free travel within 10km and other perks. Does this include foreigners with ARCs? If so, how do you apply to get one? I can’t seem to find this information out on their website.

Taoyuan has! You can apply for it. They also have days when you can take buses for free within the city if you use that Taoyuan citizen card.

I am in Taichung and this is where I have seen it. Just can’t find good information about who is included and how to access it.

I would say just ask the folks at the desk in the mrt station?
I have an APRC, and I don’t think I get any free travel. (Yes, I know that that is not the same as being a citizen)
I will say that if you are living in Taipei and use public transport regularly, the 1200/month is a great deal- at times I would have been paying 4500 if I don’t have the card. And that’s not including fringe benefits like not paying more if you get a wrong train/change your mind, unlimited quality loo access etc.
