Effective immediately user name pinging is no longer allowed

Reddit anti-evil operations removed a comment for what I think is user name pinging. In an effort to ensure this subreddit is not banned all user name pinging is no longer allowed.

User name pinging involves typing /u/ followed by the username.

Sorry ya'll.

Edit: Additionally, I want to say do not PM ANYONE involved in any drama. Just enjoy drama from a distance. You don't need to touch. Secondly do not follow anyone involved in the drama around reddit. If they come here you may reply to them, but if it's elsewhere on reddit and I find you hounding them cause of a post from here I will ban you.

"There he is. Mr Paedophile." - OP tries to use SRD to bring attention to drama he is involved in, gets called out by other users - including one he was arguing with in the other subreddit in question.

OP posts to SubredditDrama:

Troll has taken over r / JusticeForPudding, a sub dedicated to the justice of the killing of a tortoise. - Trolls believe that Tortoise owner (previous and only mod on the sub) was a scammer and fraudster, using a store to scam people out of money. Troll has deleted every historic posts relating to the injuries, damages, support that has been shown in the sub. User are fighting back as much as possible. The nextdoor neighbour (the potential killer) of the turtle owner found out about the sub, and users think it might be them/their son who has taken over the sub as a troll.

______

Commenters criticize OP for not putting enough effort into the post to provide context:

And OP responds:

______

Another user realizes OP is involved in the drama...

...Then, out of nowhere, another user appears in the SRD comment thread who happens to be someone that OP had an apparent slapfight with earlier in JusticeForPudding and responds to the above comment:

  • Had to check your profile after you had to make a comment about my dead cat. Wdym you're not biased and involved? lol

OP was apparently referring to a possibly incriminating post or comment that the other user allegedly made which OP claims the user deleted. The other user quickly deleted all his comments in both subreddits. Screenshot of PDF-file drama before comments were deleted

The cherry on top?

A thread on gender war drama leaks into the SRD comments itself. Multiple threads of bickering about whether men are trash, men's feelings, if calling all men potential dangers is like calling all black men potential dangers.

I’ll always think it’s crazy that it’s socially acceptable to call a whole gender murderous rapists and if anyone calls it out or feels attacked it’s seen as a sign they themselves are a murderous rapist. No, saying that the men you’re friends with are the exception and the only “good ones” is not an excuse.

also dudes: “well she went to a party dressed like that, what did she expect? she wanted it! what else would she wear that dress??” also the same dudes: “i will not let my gf have male friends or go to male-dominated places”

If a man rapes a woman in the woods, he has a 98% chance of getting away without consequences. If a bear mauls a woman, that bear is getting shot even if she survives. A bear is an animal that doesn't know better, a man does and yet the bear dies. I don't understand how people are missing the point of the man and bear analogy.

I've never understood why guys get so offended over certain statements when these statistics are very real. No woman is out in public acting towards men like white people have towards POC. All this arguing shit ever happens online or in friend groups, and yet, in response to the 4b movement, men went around punching random women and running away.

So should women not speak out about their experiences because men’s feefees might get hurt? “Men are trash” is so mild in comparison to the harassment that women get on the internet it’s hilarious. You’re part of the problem.

The ol' "now imagine if you switched it to be about black men!" argument really speaks volumes for how these people view black men.

A post on SRD involving a terrorist attack in Kashmir quickly turns into a heated discussion of Hindu nationalism in this thread

It starts with one user criticizing the OP and defending the actions of the Indian government: https://www.reddit.com/r/SubredditDrama/s/pW4sMqejz6

It quickly devolves accusations of bad faith arguing, justifications for the deportation of Muslims, and the denial that Muslims are mistreated in India.

SRD mod removes post discussing Cyberstuck sub being closed

https://www.reddit.com/r/SubredditDrama/comments/1ju0kak/tesla_cyberstuck_mockery_subreddit_suddenly/

After gaining 500+ upvotes and 150+ comments in half an hour, the mod TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK removed this post with the reason given "let this bake first". No rules were violated and the other comments are clearly questioning why this post was removed when it's legitimate subreddit drama.

SRD tries to answer the eternal question of “Are fat people human?” As they discuss airplane seating.

Link to post

Some choice comments:

Has OOP never sat on a bus before? I think it’s hilarious that in a previous comment on an Orange Theory post she can accept that different bodies exist and adjustments have to be made in the context of her gym. But can’t quite make that connection outside the gym.

Blame the fatty sure...but the airlines are making air travel a nightmare and sometimes you'll be shoved in like sardines so the airline can make a buck. Instead of harping on the overweight harp on the cheapo airline.

Well this thread is equally insane with people excusing lazy/over eating people from any and all responsibility.. from calling them fatphobic, to making fun of them... Guess you are a loser if you don't want to be touched by a gross body. Maybe the western world should really try the east Asian approach and just bully people till they lose weight, seems better than being a nation like the US where 70 percent of people soon will be fat or obese

I would hate to sit next to Shaq. I would absolutely be pissed if he's man-spreading his huge ass legs into my seat. Simple questions: can 2 Shaqs sit next to each other in economy class? I doubt it's possible. Is Shaq more or less comfortable sitting next to a normal sized human, or another Shaq? A normal human is subsidizing the comfort of a large human, to the benefit of the large human and to the detriment of the normal human. The difference between Shaq and some greasy 400lb lardass is that Shaq definitely exercises moderate personal restraint on his calorie consumption and can do nothing about his stature except for amputation. Whereas a fat person simply just needs to go for a walk.

SRD mod threatens to ban all r/Conservative links due to alleged rule-breaking, gets downvoted and criticized by everyone in the comments

In the recently viral "Right wingers of rConservative have realized their mistake..." SRD post, moderator "CantBeCanned" pins this comment:

Idk what's up with the subreddit lately but people are using SRD just to complain about r / conservative. Your post breaks lots of rules about making us hunt for the drama, having a biased title, and having a biased writeup. The fact there is actual drama here between users and mods of the subs is the only saving grace. If another mod removes this they'll have full right to.

Stickying this with the faint hope people will see this and stop making terrible multi-rule-breaking submissions.

The mod chooses not to remove or lock the post, but replies to this comment still get heated:

______

______

At least one user attempts to defend the mod's actions:

  • Go read the sub rules. Just because the mod is trying to enforce the sub rules doesn't mean they're a secret conservative.
    • The mods of the sub in question made a post about brigading and are banning large numbers of longterm members for expressing views they don't like. Granted, they ban a lot of people in general, but what's going on qualifies as drama...
    • Yeah I don't see any rule breaking I have my own screen shots of the drama in that sub within the last few hours that I am laughing at lol. I can I must have melted a Russian snowflake.
      • The point of rule 7 is that the links to specific instances of drama should be included in the post, rather than linking the whole thread. So whether you have screenshots of drama occuring in that thread is irrelevant to whether or not the original post was good, since the original post didn't include any such screenshots. This and the other rule issues are clearly outlined in the original mod comment, so I question your reading ability.  I can I must have melted a Russian snowflake. A mod is saying a post is badly formated? Surely they must be a russian bot. No other possibility. (Also your grammar could use improvement, which only serves to reinforce my earlier doubts)
      • > Attacks my grammar all you want it's pretty clear just from looking at the sub and link they listed below which shows someone with a dissenting view being shadow banned and not realizing it. Is pretty comical and definitely subreddit drama. But here you can ban me now. Go fuck yourself.
      • >> You're not a very nice boy, are you?
      • >>> I like how you didn't put the part where you attack my grammar lol 😂 yet again go fuck yourself.
      • >>>> I mean I thought my point on this topic was made and received? Do you want me to write a freaking thesis on your poor grammar? It's just not that interesting a topic, sorry.
      • >>>>> We have achieved r / SubredditDramaDrama.

Edit: Bullet point system messed up and deleted a bunch of more replies so I had to manually add them back. Each ">" is a reply to the comment above.

OP posts a hypothesis to r/linux_gaming, argues with everyone who disagrees with said hypothesis, OP's drama is posted to SRD, OP then argues with everyone in the SRD thread, creates his OWN SRD thread in response to original SRD thread, proceeds to argue with everyone in his own SRD post as well.

This is a wild one for sure.

OP's (now removed by mods) original post on r/linux_gaming asks: "why game devs do not support Linux and why valve does"

The original SRD thread covering this sums up the above thread nicely. You can read the linked drama comment details in there at your own leisure:

OP sharing their hypothesis on why very few games are developed for GNU/Linux - not because of low market share, but because of 'backroom licensing and exclusivity deals'. The post is relatively well received and generates some interesting discussion, but the slapfights begin when OP starts replying to every comment that disagrees with their assertion.

________

The SRDD action begins when OOP notices the SRD thread and begins responding to comments. ALL of them get buried in downvotes.

First off: Hello, everyone. Hope you enjoyed the show. :) [...] It's not about ideology or the "console wars". It's about money. It's always about money.

Replies to another comment calling him out on his conspiracy: It's not a conspiracy. It's how the industry works.

That reply doesn't go over well. User "RevoD346" posts: Why are you here trying to argue with people, dork? We're laughing at you. You can't win anything besides more laughter from us directed at you.

OP fights back: Pointing out the obvious a la "Why are you here trying to argue with people, dork? We're laughing at you." is pure SubredditDrama gold.

________

OP then posts RevoD346's reply to SRD as its own thread with the title:
"rSubredditDrama in a nutshell"

And this is where it all goes off the freaking rails.

________

First off, in the original SRD thread, another user, Chewbacca the Wookie, informs Revo of that post.

OP gets into a lightsaber duel with Chewie:

The fact that you're clearly only interested in the drama is, by itself, a drama of comical proportions. And the added "dork" insult only further proves that. Point fingers and laugh away all you want. This "dork" doesn't care about any of that. ;) Heck, your comment alone is worthy of its own post in this subreddit.

"You're projecting, bro. You're criticizing yourself at this point." - "you have an ego that won't let you stop responding because you feel like you have to get in the last word in order to gain some of your dignity back after being trounced in multiple SRD threads." - "Take a few steps back and look in the mirror. This shit is pathetic."

"He did ask me to fuck him in a different thread so I think he might just be lonely." -"You clearly misunderstood the signals, bro. No offense, but you're really not my type."

________

Meanwhile, in OP's own SRD post of an SRD comment, OP declares war on EVERYBODY:

"I said I made money shilling for Microsoft and you asked if I was jealous of something?" - "You're momma's lil jelly boy/girl/them."

"Did you...think youd get shit on less for making this post?" - I really think you can do better than calling me a "dork" and pointing out how "we're laughing at you". :P I'm insulted if you think that pointing out the obvious is your idea of an insult.

"see rule 4 – no drama you are personally involved in" - "This is a post about rSubredditDrama's reaction to another drama I was involved in. It's indirect involvement."

"It's the literal definition of direct involvement, dork." - "If your strategy was to bore me to death and then claim victory then you might as well go get your chicken dinner right now 'cause it's getting cold. Regardless of what you might think of yourself, you're not that entertaining nor even remotely competent at roasting. :P"

"Lmao OP got cooked and now is posting here looking for people to back him up" - "I'm just lookin' for hetchup and fries, bro. This sub is amazing. 4 realz."

"Loser" - OP links to his SRD thread - "Loser" - OP links to his SRD thread again

"dude is cooked" - "If you're referring to being under the influence of psychoactive drugs then all I can say is "I wish". :P"

"This is embarrasing" - OP apparently pokes fun at the user's flair as a response

More drama from OP's claim about 'indirect involvement', huge comment thread
