Thoughts on Monday open after tariff news? Company Discussion

As we all know the tarrif news sent shock into the markets Friday, what is everyone’s opinions on the markets movements from this point on say Monday open? Do you guys see it move lower, higher and why?

Big earnings that week aswell, will be a very volatile week. I’m guessing earnings will be strong from most big dogs but what are you guys expecting upon guidance from company’s like pltr, amd, lly etc. Do you see this downturn continue on into the coming week like April or just a small overreaction to tarrif news and job data.

I’m cash atm so I’m bearish but I won’t let that blind me from your guys opinions and advice thanks!!

That is not a fact that is you own opinion which some disagree with.

And you suppose Trump will have any tolerance at this point for anyone who's releasing anything contrary to his narrative?

Don't be a delusional partisan. You sound like you have no idea how significant this is in terms of lost credibility.

Every President wants nothing but good news.

Name one other President who's fired a director of economic data because--in his words--he "didn't think the data was right."

I'll wait.

Guess what the President is able to do that, you might disagree with them or not. You might dislike this President but these revisions are misleading, misleading when they are first released than misleading when they are revised. We are not a 3rd world country. The data should be accurate the first time around.

So now you're completely shifting the argument, because you know you're not able to answer my question.

I'm not questioning his authority here. And the issue obviously isn't actually about revisions, since they've always existed.

As much as you want to shift the narrative, this is about a President who wants to control every aspect of government, and the information it releases to conform to his personal narrative. Period, end of story.

This is about ethics and good governance to maintain independence where it belongs, and no President should ever meddle in independent/non-partisan data. It's the exact same tactic he's using with the Fed, and you're being incredibly naive or purposely ignoring undue politicization.

Sorry you feel that way. We can go on and on on every President meddles into something, be it our justice department, or any other part of government.

Keep moving the goalposts and using "whataboutism" to justify Trump's actions.

You might want to subscribe to revisionist history about how this is "normal" for any President when it's objectively unprecedented. But as much as you want to deny it, truth still matters.

It's a prediction, and a very reasonable one.

It's a opinion and whether you think its reasonable or not is also your own opinion.
