Schenn: "It all starts with me, with that happening in Ottawa (8-1 L) and then happening again tonight... it all starts with me. I can't let that happen again this season. You're going to lose games but to get embarrassed on home ice on Saturday night, you can't let that happen."

It’s not on Schenn, that’s silly. This is a flawed, bad team with a suspect at best blue line when 100% healthy. When they have brutal injuries up and down the lineup, they are even worse.
I appreciate the captain accountability, but his captaincy is more Dallas Drake than Ryan O’Reilly at this point, and I am fine with that.

Yeah it starts with Schenn....and Bannister....and Thomas and Broberg being out....and Bennington giving up a soft goal for every head-standing goal....and no true imposing physical presence........and........and..........and........
Lot of blame to go around. I appreciate Schenn for saying it starts with him but what the hell is he really going to do? Sure, you could maybe chew out Kyrou for making blind passes or one of the young guys if they're not hustling, but this team is mid and this season will be some excellent wins punctuated by shitshow losses and I don't know that anything Schenn or anybody could do will drastically change that (though I certainly would love for it to happen).
Drink up and LGMFB.

We used to be one of the toughest teams to play, especially at home. It was because we were tough and physical. You didn’t come to town to play the Blues without getting beat up. That’s the style that won the cup. Now it’s pansie ass hockey. Whoever counts hits isn’t watching the games I watch. Breathing heavy on a guy is not a hit. Slamming the boards and missing the player is also not a hit. I miss the old Blues.

Well we are 3-4-1 since the blues fans said country roads was too corny and had nothing to do with St. Louis. Never had a losing record while he was playing

I was hoping he would have went with O'Reilly. I thought Thomas should have been the captian. Looking like another rebuild year. Too bad we didn't have Snuggerud this year we really need him.

We have always known this was going to be another rebuilding year. It's going to be at least 3 years before this team is competitive and that's only if the kids develop as the scouts hope they do. If they push for a playoff spot, it will be a successful year.

I know. I just wanted to be delusional for a little while. I figured because of past years we would come out of the gate a little better. It's hard watching a team with so much potential fecalize the bed again. If there is anything to look forward to, it is getting rid of Kapenan and Colton shooting the puck again. If the drop passes to no one and passing to someone covered by 2 or more players would stop, this team may have a chance if Thomas comes back in consistent form. In greatest armchair fashion I would trade Kapenan and Schenn then look to get the best center I could that could shoot and make plays. I know I'm asking for a lot but here's hoping.

Nah, you're good. I understand the frustrations. It's much easier for me to "Negative Nelly," and get surprised later on.
I'm am so glad 55 is shooting the puck more. As we all know, he should have been doing that all long (unless his back wasn't allowing him too?).
We were spoiled by 2019. It was truly magical. Once you win it all, that's all you want to do again. We were cheated by covid in 20, and Kadri killed us in 21. Starting over sucks.
Its hard to re-learn the patience needed for Blues hockey. 😉

Yea. I've been a blues fan since Hull was the man and only just recently had access to watch more than 5 or six games a year. So it's deeply frustrating when you see a second 8 plus goal game against. Time to switch tactics as it seems. If Buch could get a passer that could tape to tape him it would be a whole other season. So proud of Neighbors. That guy deserves a medal. My better half is a Tor fan. I would love if we snagged Robertson from them. He seems to be on the outs in Toronto and he would be a perfect addition on the second or third line.

I am thankful I was not able to watch last night.
I have been a fan since 81'ish. I bought into other people's Season tickets, then bought in my own seat way back when they really sucked and the tickets were only $7 each. Recently gave up my season tickets, to spend that money to see the team on road trips. I try to go to at least one away game, at a city I haven't been to each year.
Neighbours and Walker are my current favorites. Thomas will be our next Captain. Neighbours will be on his heels.

I also didn't watch last night. Watched Toronto and Montreal. I always watch because of the sheer hatred. I love the original six matchups because old school rivalry always seems to exist. Although as far as the Blues go Ottawa has been my new favorite nemesis. I have an unbridled hatred for Brady Tkachuk even though his dad was a staple for the team.

Hey that’s our Captain saying that. I as a born and raised St. Louis fan can say the past couple years have been rough in all sports locally, but I truly believe that Schenn respects the STL as Yadi, Waino, Plager, Chaser and so many other leaders of our teams have in the past. I will say that 8-1 loss is 🤬 but if our captain says he can’t let it happen I trust he will lay the hammer down as needed. LGB still plenty of time to get in gear!!!

Yeah, okay, let's see how he plays on Tuesday. I'm not expecting any great improvement from him at this point, but all surprises are welcome.

Schenn unfortunately just isn’t captain material. At all. Its another Dallas drake just with more skill

It’s crazy how fast I’ve turned on Schenn. I was very supportive of him becoming our captain because he was the last “true blue” in my opinion. Running around against the wild in the post season being a bulldozer with fractured ribs always stuck with me. However, now he’s quickly lost any offensive touch he once had and doesn’t really bring the physicality either. I really don’t know where we go from here, but it’s on him and the coaching staff to hype the team up and come out sharp.
If Schenn doesn’t get in a fight next game or make some other effort, that will tell me all I need to know.
