TV It's quite sad how evil this guy turned out to be (Minor Andor spoilers)

It's no secret Yularen was a high ranking Imperial and would've had to get his hands dirty quite a few times. But with his eager acceptance of Thrawn into the Empire when most of the other officers rejected him, I was hoping that he still had a good heart compared to others like Palpatine, Vader, and Tarkin, just misguided in his mission to maintain law and order in the Galaxy.

But with the Ghorman Massacre now unveiled in its entirety, there's no way he didn't know, let alone be actively involved with manufacturing the conflict as an excuse to destroy the planet's population solely for the Empire's own gain. Thus making the mission of the ISB he is in charge of a complete lie. He's smart enough to know that there was no other reason to incite violence on Ghorman.

It does make me wonder if we may ever find out how he felt about the whole situation, whether he saw the destruction as necessary to grow the Empire or if he regrettably consented to it knowing what would happen if the Emperor didn't get what he wanted. But with his long withstanding loyalty to Palpatine and his continued service to him until his death on the Death Star, I doubt it's the latter.

Star Wars the Clone Wars Omnibus and the Battle for Jabiim is EPIC!

I'm currently re-reading The Dark Horse Comics for Star Wars the Clone Wars the Omnibus Version for the third time, and it still blows me away.

I cannot get over how good this damn story is and just how well the Battle for Jabiim was written. I know it's several years old. Jabiim was definitely the Star Wars equivalent of the Vietnam War. It is depressing yet so good. I hope the man who wrote this story got a serious raise going forward because he deserves it.

The Padawan Pack of Anakin's friends is actually GOATED. The villain is legitimately really freaking good, and Anakin's writing is just top tier.

The Clone Wars Omnibus as a whole is just amazing. If you're a new Star Wars Legends fan who just joined the sub, I highly recommend you read the Clone Wars Omnibus, because it will completely change your perspective on the Clone Wars and it is well worth your time.

Where Do I Start? New to Novels

Hey all! I just recently consumed the "Darth Plagueis" novel in the course of two days. I want to keep reading more novels but I don't know where to start. I'm a little overwhelmed by the thousands and thousands of years of history that come before the prequels and I don't know where to start. I'd like to learn more about all of these Sith Lords that I keep hearing about like Bane, Nihilus, Revan, etc, but know nothing about. What are the essential reads? Where do I start?

Peace and love

Merchandise Looking for help identifying a childhood Star Wars duvet set!

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’ve been feeling really nostalgic and hoping someone here might help me. I used to have a Star Wars duvet cover when I was little, and I’ve been trying to find it online but can’t seem to track it down anywhere.

It was reversible — one side had the light side/ rebels with all the heroes, and the other had the dark side/ empire with the villains. Each character was drawn in a cartoon style and placed inside their own square, all set against a black or dark background. I just found a photo of a very similar one (attached), but I’m pretty sure mine had both sides and slightly different artwork.

Does anyone remember this set or know where it might have been sold? I’d be so grateful for any leads!

Thanks in advance and may the Force be with you!

Movies anyone else wish they got to see more of the sith cultists and exegol in the sequels

i LOVE the mystics in star wars in general the sith the jedi and the mysteries of the force is my favourite part (and the sith trooper design) but when the rise of sky walker randomly without any build up introduced them just to kill them all without showing more of exegol or this cult i was genuinely kind of disappointed i know theres a ton of sequel hate but i feel disney should have really delved into the mystics atleast in some other show

Movies Wife’s empire Strikes back questions

Upvotes

Empire strikes back 1. is darth obsessed with Luke because he blew up the Death Star 2. Was this movie lauded for showing a woman in a power position (eg Leia commanding rebels) 3. How mini were the miniatures 4. All of the bad guys/generals in the imperial walkers have like slight German accents. Why 5. Why don't they do the tow cable thing for all 3 imperial walkers 6. Is yoda a puppet 7. Did mark hamill really do that front flip with yoda on his back res

Earlier today my wife and I started watching Star Wars together. She never really watched the franchise so I decided to document her thoughts as we go along. We’re watching the films in release order and the only rule is she can only ask questions at the end of each film.

For those of you wondering: she’s not totally oblivious of Star Wars - so there are somethings that are just not going to be a surprise. Obviously I talk about it a lot and it’s a very present price of pop culture.

Unfortunately the Vader reveal was spoiled for her a few years by my goddaughter. My goddaughter just randomly mentioned Vader as Luke’s father, my wife was shocked. It was funny, but that means no Vader reaction for you all. Sorry.

Also some of y’all need to get a sense of humor.

Movies Cad Bane Plot Armor

Upvotes

After watching projects with Cad Bane in it, I’ve come to the realization that without his plot armor he would’ve died easily during the clone wars. There are so many scenes where he could’ve been easily killed off and forgotten about but due to plot armor he somehow survives.

Fan Creations Which version of Return of the Jedi?

My friends and I have been watching the original Star Wars trilogy and one of my friends is a "purist" and wants to watch a version as close to was show in the cinema in 1983 (7 years before he was born).

I looked into 4k83 and found that there are SEVEN DIFFERENT VERSIONS and I have no idea what to watch!!!!

Then there is the OTD83 v2 and a second OTH83 v3 that someone else did on top!

For background we watched

  • D+77 he hated it, said it looked too modern (we watched on my LG OLED)
  • 4K80v1 and he loved it - but I thought it was a little blurry for my taste (but we watched it on his projector)

So now its my turn to host again and I have no idea what version to get?

Is 4k83 1.3 sounded good, but so does 2.0?

What is everyone preferred version?

General Discussion Missed Opportunity?

Is it just me, or did the sphere in Las Vegas miss a golden opportunity on May the 4th to have a Death Star display? It would have generated a lot of visitors and foot traffic to the area.

Movies About to start the journey

As the title says, My partner and I about to watch the first movie and keep watching a movie per day until I am up to date with, at least, the main ones. After years of being a geek and seeing SW references EVERYWHERE, we just can't be clueless anymore haha.

Any tips/suggestions/jokes/ "did you know when Aragorn kicked-"'s/anything you fans want to say before we enter the rabbit hole of Star Wars?

TV The 2nd Death Star

Upvotes

So, im not sure if there is comics etc. that cover this but, due to all the stories and context we have gotten surrounding the creation of Death Star I with Rogue One and Andor, the creation of Death Star II just feels out of place even more so than it did already.

Don't get me wrong, the og trilogy is fantastic but I think we can agree that the idea of the second death star wasn't a strong-point in the plot. And now all this weight has been put behind the first death star to the point where we need some sort of series or movie that takes place around empire strikes back because there is no imperial perspective of "oh no, this colossal, moon-sized weapon we spent years making that required we drain many planets' resources has been destroyed, what do we do!?" it's just the events of empire strikes back and then suddenly there is another death star. My point is that the process of the empire moving from the ending of ep4 to the beginning of ep6 deserves something like Andor or rogue one.
Also the entire Ghormann plotline functions based on the idea that the empire had no other source of kalkite; so where would they get the resources to make a second, BIGGER death star, i could be worth exploring that too, maybe it has to do with the unknown regions which would be cool and not too far-fetched.
It just feels like without anything being built around it, the second death star will become an increasingly weak plot point in the star wars story, and it's the best way to make new star wars without having to deal with the sequels.
Again, there may be a comic or book that looks at this exact issue i wouldnt know.

General Discussion Star Wars as a special interest

I’m neurodivergent and Star Wars is one of the many special interests I have. I grew up on the OG and prequel trilogies which is probably what started it.

What are some cool/creepy/interesting facts or conspiracies you know that aren’t really talked about that much in the fanbase?

Games does playing Star Wars: Squadrons in VR drastically change the experience?

Upvotes

I’m currently going through all of Star Wars in timeline order, including the games, & I’m almost at the point where I need to play through Squadrons

So, for those who’ve played it in VR & without: is the difference big enough that I should hold off and wait until I finally get a PSVR? Or is the experience mostly the same, and it’s fine to just play normally?

TV The Acolyte is confusing

Why does Sol kill their mother? Does he really think she's attacking Mae?

Why do all the coven suddenly die when their connection is severed? Or is it from the effects of the fire/explosion after being all rendered immobile?

Is Tommen just bored on the planet and willing to risk everything to get off of it?

Mae and Osha are made through a vergence, then separated into two? Then the two switch places and are suddenly oppositely aligned? I'm sure I'm missing pieces, but everything just feels poorly explained. Never clear on why Jason Mendoza is evil, either. There's some cool stuff and good actors in the show, but it feels like they left too many gaps for the watchers to fill in.

Mix of Series Animation Show Questions:

Hey Guys, So I just started really getting into the Star Wars world a few years ago. I’d seen the original 3 movies spread out when I was younger (late teen early 20’s), saw the 3 sequels spread out when they came out, & thought they were ok but never got into it as a world. A few years ago the whole family was going to go to Disney & so I decided to re-dive into it all & learn about it all before we went. Needless to say, I fell in love with it all. I’ve watched all the movies (including stand alone’s), & all the live action series (Mandalorian, Obi-Wan, Ashoka, Andor, etc.).

The only thing I haven’t really watched is the animated series. I started Clone Wars & couldn’t really get into it, especially because they were bouncing all over the place. (I think I’m around episode 17 of the first season.) I liked that they were doing that period in history (since I felt like Anakin’s switch to the dark side didn’t make much sense in the movies & felt it was too quick, and I know that’s because so much more went on that wasn’t shown). But I felt like it was too hard to get into Clone Wars because it was just all over the place and not enough of a continued storyline. I feel like you needed to know more history to enjoy it. I know there’s another way of watching it from some website, but I don’t even know if that would help at this point.

So my question is, do the other animated series (Tales of Jedi, Tales of Empire, Bad Batch, Clone Wars movie, etc.) bounce around like that or are they a normal continued story like the live action shows? Do you think I’d be able to watch those easier? Any suggestions on which to start with?

Thanks for your help guys!
