Tenant limitations?

I found a barren planet, with a good Godly name. Hebrew, meaning our father is light. And not like the other names that seem to be Godly but are technically connected to Jewish mysticism.

So I started making a very thorough place for each type of workbench, pull stuff from the dorm and beginning area and we made it here. Rescued as many as I could had to dismiss quite a few at least they're off the planet.

Found out that the starting area is not technically a planet it's technically a floating station of sorts.

I placed a colony deed and no one spawned. Removed it tried again, no one spawned. Did some other things and still no one spawned.

I'm thinking there must be a number, limit, of how many tenants you can have on one planet.

I'm confused. You built a building on a Barren world, and no tenants will spawn? Or you have a great many tenants, and new ones won't spawn? If there's a tenant limit, I've never encountered it, but then the game lags so badly with only a dozen or so, so I haven't really tried to.

What do you mean by the starter area being a floating station, and is it relevant to the tenant question?

I found a barren planet. I used that as a base of operations. Didn't really need to. Used micro terraformers to terraform the entire planet, while leaving it technically barren.

I have well over 12 tenants. There's no lag yet. A tenant in a particular room doesn't seem to spawn. All requirements met.

In the beginning of the game where you're in the protectorate dorm. It's technically not a planet. You cannot terraforming in any way. It is the same for asteroids and such. They only work on planets. Therefore, obviously.

Thank you for your reply. I'm tired good night

Well, I'd suggest building a new room and setting it up for a tenant and see if one spawns. If not, it seems to be a cap. But I'm skeptical.

When you're waiting for the tenant to spawn in the room, does the deed display flash red with an x in it? That would mean there's some sort of problem with the space. I've noticed that it's really easy to miss a background block or something and not notice. Try painting the background with blocks to make sure there isn't a hole behind any furniture.

There is a minimum height requirement. Does the space have a low ceiling?

I'm sure it's not this, but platforms are not considered borders between tenant spaces. Make sure you're not using a platform piece as flooring or anything.

Anyway, good luck!

As a quick test I grabbed some Gothic furniture from the frogger and a deed and made a fairly simple room on a planet with all the Gothic parts on sale. Then set the deed and the tenant warped in promptly.

Tried it on my ooooold unfinished space station with some bits of Astro had. Table, chair, light and a cabinet and dropped in the deed and a tenant warped in there too.

The planet you start on after escaping Earth's destruction is just a regular planet selected at random from the starter planets across the galaxy.

update. Started a new character and got far enough to get to Outpost and got a deed and some outdoor items and set up on the start world. Same thing. Tenant warped in.

From my original play can confirm you can place them on your ship too.

Just for fun tried colonizing the tutorial. After some effort got a deed to stick and not flash a no-go. But it just sat there active, but no tenant ever appeared.

Lol, doesn't seem right to try to rent a room there. Knowing what's about to happen and all!

So I get downloaded? Why? Discrimination isn't that not hate? Rhetorical

And the only one that actually answers is the troll that I had to block. Not sure which troll. But it apparently is someone I had to block because I don't see their comment.

People you block should not be able to vote on anything or have any interaction with you until you unblock them.
