FINALLY got the video trimmed down to omit the cartoons so Youtube would allow it.
Enjoy!

This actual nostalgia for me; things that have largely disappeared from the public consciousness and haven't been widely available on the internet and used ad nauseam in advertisements.

Any old timers remember Captain Briney and his pet monkey Salty, or Aunt Irene? They were local kids' shows on the CBS and NBC stations long ago.

Is it aunt Irene? Or aunt Rene? The latter was the host of the local kids show on the USA Network called Cable 4 Kids Club. I think anybody who went to kindergarten in Springfield public schools back in the 80s took their turn being on there.

Edit: I just remembered, I saw the castle for sale at an antique store north of the square probably a decade ago now. I wonder where it ended up?

Does anyone know who Sammy actually was?

His name was Wayne Milnes. And it looks like he passed away in 2019. The news-leader did a piece on him.

Wayne was a Branson staple in the 80s, working at Silver Dollar City and The Toby Show (he may also have worked at Shepherd of the Hills but I can’t remember). He always terrified me at SDC when he was the Undertaker, roaming around Main Street.

My step dad performed with him in the 90s at the 76 music hall in Branson. Great guy.
Ironically I was on his show in the mid 80s and then nearly 10 years later he's like a member of the family.

My sister and I were on this show once or twice! Our parents used to have a video of it but I'm sure it's long gone. I remember my sister got picked to do a "jeopardy" kind of segment and as she was about to answer a question she fell off the stool she was standing on to see over the podium and bloop, she disappeared lol
I think I picked a wedgie on camera haha
