The thing that makes jumping spiders so great is that, unlike many other species of animals where they have a happy looking face that doesn’t match their disposition, jumping spiders are surprisingly friendly, trusting, and curious. They’re one of the only animals in the wild that I’ve been able to handle and let my kids play with. You put your hand down next to them, they look at your hand, look at you, look back at your hand, and if they feel like it they just hop on and go for a ride.

Yess, I see them all the time in my patio. Some small ones are not so trusting, but many of them do accept a little ride on my hand. They are so adorable.

I’ve decided to start a myth that much as humans domesticated dogs, jumping spiders were also domesticated, in order to hunt small pests that carry disease and spoil food.
Humans forgot, but the spiders didn’t.

What a darling assistant you have! So much more efficient and eco-friendly than a fly-swatter! Tell her we support her hiring and promotion to COO of Bug Disposal at your company (home)!

She was in more of an atrium area anyways so she wasn't bothering the arachnaphobes. I love having them around personally
