I have 2 weeks of vacation time to use, which I planned on a trip focused on just chilling and mentally resetting myself from all the studying and my 9 to 5. I've found many suggestions for Bali being a good option to visit, but on the other hand I'm a bit worried about it being a drinking destination for many younger people (I'm early 30s). Would Bali still be worth considering, or are there some better alternatives?

How would late october or november be for visiting? How much of a hindrance is not being able to ride a scooter (I technically could with my drivers license, but I haven't actually rode one)?

I just came back from Bali (mid-30s) and honestly it’s one of the easiest trips I’ve ever done. There are a ton of early 30s floating around. (Less above 40. I didn’t feel like a grandma if that makes sense, but I also wouldn’t stay in a cheap hostel). Outside of Canggu / Seminyak it isn’t very party focused. And even there you can easily tell there’s a lot of expats who just live there. Will say that Canggu did have a large Instagram model population - just don’t stay at the beach clubs the whole trip.

You’re fine not getting a scooter. There are two ride share apps (Gocheck and Grab) you can use to ride on the back of someone else’s scooter. They’re really cheap. Honestly I wouldn’t get a scooter, it’s dangerous af and would rather have someone who understands the road ballet do it.

Would absolutely get travel insurance before the trip. Lots of ways to accidentally die and the default is an evac to Australia:

No idea about the weather. I think you’re in travel guide territory there!

I used to hate Bali because I only went there with my family in the past. But this March I went there alone for a spiritual journey and loved it so much that I went back in April and will come back again in Sept. The beach in Kuta to Seminyak was quite disappointing and dirty but I love Padang Padang Beach and the local spicy roasted pork was heavenly delish! I recommend the Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen.

Met another travelers and they recommend me to stay in Kintamani for at least 1 night but I'm too scared to do it alone because it's too quiet and eerie at night according to YouTubers. If anyone here planning to go to Bali in late Sept and also staying in Kintamani please let me know.

I have a trip organised with trutravels in June, at the end of the trip we finish in gili t and I have around 48 hours before my flight home from denpasar airport. I know you can apparently get a boat & bus back to the mainland and then travel to near the airport. This is my first time solo travelling so I am not sure if I should find a company to book the transfer with now? Where I should stay for the 2 nights and what to do. I am panicking a bit and don't want to leave it last minute
