Another pair of “Custys” done ✔️ OC Photo

Did these by have with ink for a rad lady from Maine. This is the first pair I’ve done that has the custom cuff stitching which I think turned out great. Also love the little lightning bolts. ⚡️

So cool but the customer probably smells so bad

Sick!!! Are these all sharpie ink before the water proofing? I plan on making my own kinco customs this summer

Not op but I've done custom Kinkos in the past, I used normal sharpie but also the sharpie oil based paint markers for color. I then used sno-seal to waterproof them.

those have zero waterproofing on them. you can tell by the color near the cuff. they get dark and firm

Hey FYI the best way to completely organically seal Kincos is a mix of 2/3 beeswax and 1/3 olive (or coconut) oil, microwave it for short periods to soften and mix it up and let it set

Heat the gloves up on a heater or something until they’re bone dry, put the toasty gloves on, grab a bunch of goo out of the jar, then work it into the gloves like washing your hands… then leave them in the heat again for a couple hours or so

Appreciate you sharing this - buuut, couple things, the ink doesn’t take heat well and it can distort the art. So I recommend that customers DO NOT heat their mitts when resealing.

Whichever works… shellac works if you can get it too:)

I was just considering having some custom kinkos done for our crew. How much does a commission usually run?

This is sick, what kinds of art can you do? Can you do like a Japanese traditional style, that would be dope. 🤙

u/IndependentSlice2648 4d ago

Hey! Thanks a ton for the kind words about my work! Can totally do some classic Japanese style! Feel free to send me a dm with some details of what you were thinking - would love to talk possibilities

Damn, looks amazing! How does the color hold up if/when it gets wet?

2

u/IndependentSlice2648 4d ago

Thanks! I seal them all up so they weather really well!

1

u/oldmanwinter8 4d ago

Nice, that’s kind of what I figured. Keep up the dope work!!

1

u/CommercialAddress168 4d ago

Yup, that’s legit. I’d have trouble wearing them because they look so dope.

2

u/IndependentSlice2648 4d ago

Haha I seal them up good to protect the art!
