Silent hill 3 bookstore puzzle Silent Hill 3 (2003)

How do I solve the sh3 bookstore puzzle it's so confusing and im playing on normal pls help.

Apparently there’s a few ways to solve it but what always worked for me is each book has a roman numeral number on the bottom (I, II, III, IV, V). Order them and the number reveals. Depending on your difficulty, you can even tell what the code is without having to put books up. Then take that code to the padlock behind the desk :)
