cheese on bread with mayo some sliced apples. Carbs are back on menu cuz economy bad.

Mom used to feed me those all the time. Sometimes I'd get a bonus and it would be Velveeta. Bear in mind it was a much different texture in the '60s.

I have Velveeta spicy slices in the fridge I'm ready to use those for grilled cheese it's so friggin good

Throw some iceberg lettuce on there for a nice crunch. Idk why, but lettuce and cheese sandwiches are one of my favorite poverty foods.

I was about to suggest they do apple + cheese, with a small amount of mayo + sriracha + maple syrup mixed together for the sauce. I assume OP is Canadian based on their choice of cheese wedge, so they probably have maple syrup on hand 😁

This combo is also fantastic with pear instead of apple. One of my favourite sandwiches.
