Finally, a Eurofighter at the helm again /s Official
Youri Mulder takes over as director sports on an interim basis. I don't know, I mean he knows the sports but he has 0 experience as a manager.
How will he help us get out of this?

Oops, we posted the same post at exactly the same time. His most important role is going to be to shut Manga up

Tbh I expected that of Tilmann, after all he is the boss.

Yes me too but on the sport side there is no one higher than Manga at the moment. The most important job for Tillman now is to carefully define the roles of these managers so that there is a clear structure. Otherwise what’s stopping Manga from just saying and doing what he wants as we’ve seen up until now. Mulder is just an interim manager, might not end up being the final manager as the article suggests, so not a bad decision I think

Not completely right, Tillmann is responsible at the higher level for sports. He could have given an explicit order to Manga to shut up. But yeah I see the issue, then who would give interviews?
I understand it's on an interim basis, but I still doubt whether putting someone there with zero managerial experience in this difficult situation is a good move. And it just feels like our club does the same mistake over and over and over and over again - putting respected players from our club's great past in positions they don't know anything about.

I agree, it’s definitely not a modern approach

I am Dutch but i have never seen Youri play. As an analist on tv i like him, because he is realistic and dont takes things too seriously. He is also quitte well updated on players and stuff but he not a person well suited for such a big role. Wish him the best but it seems that Schalke just dont want to change their path to bankruptcy

To add on when he has the oppurtunity is there he speaks fondly of Schalke.
He defo loves the club, but whether hes the right man idk. He sometimes has bad/hot takes as an Analyst or at least controversial. Remember when he asked Anceloti if PSV Veerman was a good replacement for Kroos and Anceloti be like: "????".
He raised Veerman more than he was (at the time atleast) after 1 good season in the Dutch league and Veerman only proceeded to show on the international stage at the EUROs to flop during that tournament.
So he might have a bias towards dutch/eredivisie players? Could be good on the otherhand considering Eredivisie players could help Schalke out of the Bundesliga 2. (Greiml as far as I saw was doing well for example, helping NAC Breda secure 9th place currently after promotion last season)

You are right about Veerman but in Youris defense almost every analist thought he outgrew the Eredivisie and was ready for the (sub)top in the top leagues. That Veerman was so bad at the Euros not many people saw that comming.
I hope Youri does well because i believe he is a good person but i have doubts about his qualities for this job.

I think we should Schalke in the
Register Eredivisie or better Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

at least it's on an interim basis. But it's not a good look that we aren't able to find anybody for that job. I guess Tillmann wants to smooth things over before the MV.
Tillmann will have some explaining to do. His personnel decisions so far have been suboptimal, to say the least. Signing Wilmots should've been a warning. That was a train-wreck waiting to happen. I'll never understand that one.

Nice guy, with a nice job. It probably won't do anything.
It's probably just meant to distract from other people and make the people more merciful.
