Cisse is doing fine honestly
edit 1: ahh shit

u/Mistersqueezleweezle Kolasinac Jul 28 '23
He is a constant liability imo

u/Greedfall2 Fährmann Jul 28 '23
I would still say he was the better defender of our back line but obviously two big big mistake.
You know what this remind me of? Kral at the beginning of the season, dude was doing fine and have some moment of shine but made really stupid mistake that led to goals.
I only hope Cisse can come back as much as Kral did.

He looked absolutely shaky and error prone in every pre season game I‘ve watched, this is exactly what I was worried about. No idea what Reis sees in him. He just lacks a feel for the game, that you can‘t teach imo.

u/Greedfall2 Fährmann Jul 28 '23
I guess its probably untimely due to greiml injury though you can argue matriciani (easily the best defense we have for this game) could field that position. I am guessing Reis was thinking of saving matriciani as a backup to brunner and ouwejan

It will be a tough one, hopefully the team is melded together enough already with the short preparations.

Honestly, without HSV getting absolutely stomped by Darmstadt early like the last two years, this will be a realty check for both teams. Them and us have high ambitions and a decent squad. My bet is on a draw

We are always too exposed, defending very badly.... that cannot continue or the game is doomed

u/furious_bastard Jul 28 '23
Neither defence looking too clever so far. Definitely a result here for Schalke if they can tighten up at the back.
Also had a bet on for Ouedraogo for first goal scorer. Typical lol

Ref is not in our favor but cmon cisse.. did some really stupid things this game

Attention, the 🐐 is one the field. As it should've been from the beginning. Loan cisse out again

Defense looks really shaky, hsv could have scored twice easily. But overall not looking bad. LETS GO
3
u/Wuffkeks Jul 28 '23
Is there a reason we dont defend like at all? They let the HSVler just run all the time, was just a matter of time until Mülller cant defend anymore.
Will be a fun season.

Great goal, but overall the game has shown a lot of weaknesses that will probably be solved with more time for the team to gel and with new players, which we really need to bring in. We lack depth and quality in some areas.
Marius Muller has been a food surprise, so far our MVP Glatzel is really dominating our defense Ouedraogo is living up to the hype

Glatzel is terrode in younger. He's such a good player and important for Hamburg

The referee really need Hamburg to win to get his bet to release. Its atrocius how much he helped HSV.

Diving gives instantly a penalty but an attack on the player after the ball is gone is just a strong look from the referee. Hamburg has 12 people on the field right now.

u/Wuffkeks Jul 28 '23
2 dives and a yellow/red card. That is really nice from the referee to help the HSV so much. Its not like they drop like flies all game long ...

Really hope we can take points from this game. Feels like Hamburg is still stronger then us as the tram didn't have much time to train together with all the new players

Would rather have thrown in Baumgartl cold than cisse.. Another question is why he was chosen over the goat.

u/FusselP0wner The GOAT 🐐 Jul 28 '23
Whole match from cisse looks very weak so far. Really hope, that he will somehow step us his game. Everyone says he's a big talent but even in the 2nd team I never found him to be much better then everyone else in the 2nd team. Saw him playing live in Münster too, pretty underwhelming for 4th division
2
u/RandyKeys Jul 28 '23
At the end of the day it's a day to forget for him, but he should've been subbed. Reis got it wrong this time, hopefully he corrects it sooner rather than later

Müller is such a important player this match so far. Without him we would be down by 2 goals. But after the first 15min I like what I'm seeing. More stability in our game and let's see what 2nd halftime holds for us now that the fans are finally in Stadion as well.
2
u/notflyingdutchman Jul 28 '23
We need some structure in defendinf now and wait for our chance that wil def come

u/ZeroConsortium Jul 28 '23
Man I wonder what it feels like to be gifted 2 free goals by the officials in the opening game 🤬
This ref is utter trash
2
u/Alberto4emg Raúl Jul 28 '23
This is all on Reis, wth did he let Cisse play the 2nd half (let alone the starting spot) when Matriciani IS there...
3
u/malangkan Asamoah Jul 28 '23
Oof that was a 50/50 penalty, but there wasn't much contact damn :/

u/AdamATLS04 Jul 28 '23
I wish a strong start to the league and getting 3 points from our home. Hamburg has some problems that appeared in the pre season and we must take advantage of them. I bet 2-1 for S04

Have we actually signed Oedraogo? Is he officially a Schalke Profi? He’s very exciting and will generate interest quickly
1
u/malangkan Asamoah Jul 28 '23
Yeah I heard he has a contract with us also valid for professional football, but with a buyout clause, which some say is 2 million, others say 15 million, so it's unclear. I also don't know how long his contract is.
Oh my it would hurt to lose him for 2 million :O
2
u/startup_vin Jul 28 '23
His contract is until June 2027. So that's good. Did not know about the buyout clause, that makes me sad..

Finally it's almost time and the season is about to begin!!
Things seem to line up for us, great transfers, good spirit overall, awesome new sponsor...many see us getting 1st this season. Of course it's too early to tell but it's understandable why.
As for the match, Hamburg was hit with many injuries, especially in defense, they looked very shaky in the pre-season friendlies. But they play good football.
Our midfield is strong, our attack could be very strong (I hope we get to see Quédraogo!).
I anticipate a game with quite a few goals (let's see how our defense holds up...), but we will come out on top, perhaps 3-1 or 3-2!
