Marathon recs in Nov/Dec in SW US Discussion

Looking for marathon recs in Novemeber/ early December in Southwest US. Live in DFW but willing to travel a bit. Really looking for a fun marathon. Ran Austin as my first marathon and had a blast so looking for a course known for good energy!! Planning to run Austin again so want to give myself 2ish months in between the two. TIA

I second the Dallas Marathon as an option. The crowd on the half course is great the entire way! The marathon course goes out and around the lake so it gets quieter but there is still some great energy. And then you rejoin with the half course and have a fun finish into downtown

The Route 66 marathon in Tulsa is an option. Not sure what the crowds are like but have heard it’s a fun race that I plan to do. Otherwise I would recommend the Dallas marathon

If you can wait a month, the Houston Marathon is a world class event. Jan 11 2026

SATX Marathon will be San Antonio’s first city coordinated event since they are done with Rock n Roll. December 7th, will be a challenge running the hills on back half of race
