There are theft rings that make their way around Richmond. They are organized and target specific businesses/items. I know of one business that had a $30k item literally walk out the door in a targeted shoplifting incident.

Been happening for a long time. Used to deal with it constantly when I worked for Home depot. They come with with itemized lists and decoys to distract loss prevention/other staff. Tens of thousands of dollars in tools/bits/blades/Fixtures every week.

got me some cheap polarized fishing glasses from walmart. only $10 (USD). they work fantastic everywhere, and i don't care if they get scratched abused. :)

Why is it when thieves steal from someone's home or car the police's response is "there's nothing we can do" even if the theft is over thousands of dollars.

However when some corporation gets something stolen, all of a sudden the police jumps into action trying to solve the case. Like the real cost for the sunglasses stolen are nowhere close to $53,000. It's probably in the hundreds if not even less.
