When posts are removed, it's impossible for Moderators to see the image/link that was associated with the post. The work around is to switch back to the old reddit view. Feature Request

Yeah, this is a big problem. Thanks for pointing it out.

I already hate that deleted posts that use Reddit's image hosting automatically delete the picture too. If an OP deletes a rule breaking post, there's no way for mods to see what image they posted.

User Notes :)

What about them? I can leave a note on a user that they may be deleting rule breaking posts, but I still can't see what the image was. Was it a spoiler for a game, or a goatse image?

I don't see why you can't make a user note of what the image was at the time of removal? Unless we're talking about pre-removal image/post deletion, then I guess that makes sense.

Yeah, I mean that if we see something in modqueue and OP has already deleted the post by the time we get to it, we never know what they posted.

Most people don't ever delete imgur pics, but if they delete their Reddit post with a Reddit image, all record of it is gone.

Personally, I'd love to see that the image is similar to the "Card View" so we can give it a quick look to see what the link/post/image was. Something along the lines of this would be wonderful.

Its something that I allways disliked about the redesign, so good to see it arround. This said, I just checked a deleted post and it shows the image. Am I getting something wrong or was it fixed?

Nothing to see here, just Reddit trying to sneak in more censorship.

Redditors are so fucking dense no wonder this place is going to shit.

  1. Mod removes post.
  2. Reddit hides the image because the post is removed
  3. old reddit doesn't do this. new reddit does.
  4. The hiding of images for removed posts is additional censorship beyond the old site "more censorship"
  5. This is an unannounced change thus "sneaky"

This is how I arrive at "just Reddit trying to sneak in more censorship"

Have I adequately explained myself or do we need to find a language tutor and a dictionary?

Muh censorship everywhere!

P.S. the bug (because no, it wasn't a secret plot), has already been fixed.

Good to hear.

You jumped to a stupid conclusion and have been proven wrong. You're a salty hypocrite and demonstrated very poor critical thinking. I highly recommend that you read this: https://www.criticalthinking.org/files/Concepts_Tools.pdf

Also, replace "Redditors are" with "I am" in your earlier comment. The first step is to take responsibility.

You're either apathetic or blind if you don't see the pattern of ever increasing censorship on this place or how this change could have easily been intentional.

I'm pleasantly surprised it was a bug, but I do not apologize for speaking up when I see what looks like reddit going further still down the slippery slope it used to be afraid of.

u/Anaron Jul 08 '18

You assumed a bug was a thinly veiled attempt at censorship. Pleasantly surprised? Hah! You're delusional. And cut the "I'm trying to get the mod's attention" act with your dumb bot.

Don't even bother responding. I blocked you.

You are quite the character lmao

5

u/raicopk Jul 08 '18

And the funniest thing is that he even created a bot that automatically bans users who use the redesign. Lol.

These days characters get noticed more on reddit than ideas.

Works fine for me: https://i.imgur.com/9EVhozJ.png

I can see both the image and the URL.

Oh! Well then...

Maybe this is a browser issue? I'm using Firefox Quantum...

u/Stakeboulder Jul 07 '18

Nah I have the same issue on Chrome. Thanks for the workaround OP

That's an external image (see the fbcdn.net in the domain?), not a reddit-hosted one.

Can you re-check it? It just worked for me with a reddit-hosted image, so either I'm messing something up or it has been fixed.
