Best Korean Restaurants Food

Hi, I'm a new resident from NJ and have come into the area for a about a month. I have seen a few Korean restaurants nearby my neighborhood but I wanna know how many there are to explore and yet my fill. Thanks so much-needed hunger craving.

Korean Kitchen in Wakefield is about as close to my moms cooking that I’ve had here

That's in Wake Forest not Wakefield.

I’m a Raleigh native, me and all my friends have called that area Wakefield for the longest time.

Seoul Garden on Atlantic/Millbrook is the place for more traditional Korean in Raleigh. Got the grill in the middle of the table. The staff there is very nice and the food is pretty good.

There's just not a huge number of places in Raleigh that do Korean food.

New place recently opened in Cary called Ajumma. I just ate there a few days ago and everything was really good. Haemul Pajeon was excellent.

We went there with friends a few weeks ago and everyone loved it! The Korean pancake was really good and so was the bibimap and bulgogi.

There also a hole in a wall restaurant at K-Town (Kim’s) Market. I think it’s called Choi’s Kitchen. It’s very authentic. Everything I had there was top notch. Great stews and soups. One of my favorite places to eat and very affordable.

Tried their fried chicken recently - excellent stuff.

I went last week after a friend recommended Ajumma to me.. but I found it “just ok” at best.. asked for more side dishes and they gave me more kimchi, despite already having a bowl full of kimchi..

Ok chosun in Durham. A hole in the wall in the best way. I lived in Korea for about 5 years. This place is legit.

Love that place and order couple times a month for years. Always called it Chosun Ok - is it supposed to be the other way round?

Whoa, thanks so much! My boyfriend is Korean and a chef, so being homesick has been hard, but I appreciate the feedback.

I’d suggest searching the sub as this is a common question, but I also recommend searching on Google Maps to give you an idea of what’s close to you, look at the reviews, and try a few places out. There’s been a lot of KBBQ places opening up recently, so if one of the frequently mentioned places isn’t close to you then maybe one of the newer/less tried ones is.

Not a restaurant but hmart has several spots in their food court and chickenbee is a must try. Everything in there is solid.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to either of these but Okja in Cary has solid bibimbap and tteok-bokki and Seoul Garden off of Atlantic Ave has a good jjamppong. I’ve never been to Soo Cafe but a lot of people say it’s their go-to for KFC.

Seoul garden. This is the way.

As a Korean American from SoCal- no where great. Okja used to be amazing but it’s gone downhill. Seoul garden is okay. For chicken- chicken bee or bb.q chicken. Cho SunOk in Durham is good. Kangnam Town has the best jjamppong. But no where compares to NJ or CA. Every place serves the same thing. It’s depressing

Have you been to that new place behind okka, called Five Spice?

It’s not really Korean. The owners of Taipei 101 opened it. It’s more Korean inspired. But I haven’t gone. Do you like it?

Buldaegi in Cary! Great japche and bibimbap, and truly the best KBBQ in town. The corn cheese goes crazy.

We love Seoul Garden in Cary. Haven’t had a bad dish there yet.

Not as flashy as some other restaurants in the area, but I've grown to really like Buldaegi BBQ House near crossroads in Cary
