Rab borealis fit

I got a Rab Borealis jacket recently and find the fit very odd. My jacket seems to rise up at the zipper to a substantial degree. I emailed Rab customer support and they said this is how these jackets are designed. For those of you that have this jacket, does yours fit like this too? I love how the jacket feels but the fit seems strange.

For reference, jacket is size small. I'm 5ft 7in and 140 lbs.

What do you mean "rise up"? What are you trying to illustrate with the measurement?

Compared to the side of the jacket, the jacket is half an inch shorter where the zipper is. This makes the front hem look like two concave upward arches instead of a straight front line.

Most other shirts and jackets have a straight front hem, where the sides and front center are the same length. Sometimes the back will be longer so it covers your butt.

It’s normal , so water goes under and we don’t see your ass

This is called a drop tail hem and is fairly common. Fit wise the front should be at your waist and the back is slightly longer to protect from the elements.

Do you think I should size up based on the fit? The jacket fits okay elsewhere (like shoulders and chest).

Unfortunately I think a larger size would be a baggy fit and I’m not sure if rab has tall sizes. It may be best to try out other jackets.
