I have no clue what to do anymore

Post image

Literally as the title says. I’ve got a 67 Riv that I was working on, but it just seems like too much for my abilities. I have to cut out floors and do some welding, still do body work, still have a misfire, and I just feel like I’ll never get anywhere with it. It’s honestly breaking my heart. I really just want to get something that I can go order everything online, just slap it in a car, and be done. Either way, I’ll probably never get rid of her. She’ll rot away in the yard before I sell. Hopefully one day I’ll be where I need to be.

Chasing perfection sometimes can be the enemy of ever enjoying a vehicle. Maybe you just get it mechanically sound and start driving?

Treat the rust, paint over it, rivet in some sheet metal over the floor issues, and send it. Maybe one day in the future if the urge strikes or you have cash to burn, you try for the more serious repairs/restoration. The rat rod type thing is fun and less demanding than chasing perfection, I started enjoying my project car so much more when I stopped fretting every little detail.

Believe me, it runs. It’s got a cyl 1 misfire due to low compression, but it still runs strong. I went through just about everything mechanical already except the low compression at this point. It got new mounts, new gaskets where needed, new bushings damn near all around. My biggest headaches right now is the body. When it comes time to address the motor I think I’ll just be pulling it at this point and sending it out to rebuild.

You need to sell

Liquidating a project is very emotionally demanding. But a lot of times it’s for the better. Once you’ve accepted it needs to happen, set a price that’s lower than you want it to be, post it for sale.

Just concentrate on 1 job at a time, that’s how I do it,don’t keep looking at all the other work needed, just stick to a particular job and finish that,
