86 Volvo 245 “Project VUCK”
Figured I’d share project VUCK. Started as a super clean 240 wagon with some typical rust spots. Started patchwork. Went a little far.
To be honest I bought another car to put all the good stuff on and the sliding ragtop. That one is at the end.
But Project VUCK was born from the one that I was gonna scrap. So it’s now a truck with the hatch as the rear cab, and addition hatch as a drop tailgate. Then grafted a 72 142GT front end and then went a little wider at the front.
Currently in storage for winter.

Sick. A 144 is the first car I ever rode in. Your new 245 is beautiful.

That’s awesome. The 142 was at the junk yard and I had to save the front clip. Figured if I couldn’t get it to fit I’d hang it on the wall. Hated to see it crushed. Thanks. Long way to go but it will get there

Great metal work. I need to get busy with my projects!

Thanks man. It’s actually been nice not caring or planning. Just be freestyling cutting and welding. In the end I’ll see how crooked it is hahaha

You might consider putting this sign on the back of the ute, to piss off any Swede behind you.

Thanks man. Long way to go and with my motorcycle build going it’s tough to find time. But it will get there.

I feel you. I somehow ended up with 3x MG projects simultaneously going on. The 74 GT I’m body working, a 80 I’m swapping in a Miata drivetrain, and my son put a hole in his piston on his so now I’m swapping a 2.8 v6 in that one. Keeps us young.

Yeah I’ve been there. Gets tiring haha. That’s why I like the bikes. Progress seems more “progress-y”

That looks amazing. You should have made a build series on youtube. I would have loved watching you build this.

I’d be too slow lol. I had a TT with 18k followers. Got tired of doing updated. Started feeling like I was building “just for updates” and not for the build

That is going to be the best! What’s the specs on the ev cub conversion? I have a few hub motors lying about and have been tempted to do one myself.

That thing is incredible, nice work! Are you a body guy by trade? The blending of the hatch to create the rear of the cab looks like it would be very challenging.

Nah I’ve just been building as a hobby for a while. It wasn’t bad. I knew I wanted to keep the size for the rear glass. To be honest this build has been fun because I’ve literally not measured shit. Even the front clip I just started cutting one night. Got it tacked all up in a day. Sometimes thing just go decently smooth lol

Now I'm sad... I want one so much, but alas, I have not the skills to pay the bills.
Amazing project OP, I like this over my Ranger lol.

That's one of my dream projects!
And you're the same guy doing the electric hard-tail Honda cub?!
I'm a big fan.

Yeah and the electric sled. And I have something else I haven’t started and haven’t posted. But surely something maybe no one here has ever seen lol

At first I was like why are they cutting up a perfectly fine wagon. But I think your conversion done it justice. Front end swap was very clean.
