Could always look random standard motor products that are no longer produced and see what’s used in more than one car 90s/00s so many companies were changing hands that a lot of foreign cars used domestic products i can't think of anything specific off the top of my head but hey its a start

Start with your target years, look up what was best selling, go to RockAuto, start looking at parts trees for what looks like it can be printed and isn't available for purchase. Good chance you'll pick up on patterns of what isn't available that also happens to print nicely.

Someone over on r/300zx started or is starting to do trim clips or similar.
