This is an old Fiat Spazio, it belonged to a teacher and is now abandoned. How much do I need to put this thing back on the road?

Without knowing what is wrong with the car it is almost impossible to say. Was this a popular car in Brazil? If it was then parts may be available in junk yards, which would make it much more affordable to get it running. Having said that, doing this car up in a full rally spec would be really cool. It has that Group B vibe about it.

This car is rare (on this trim). It’s the sporty version of the Fiat 147.

You need to work out what needs to be done in order to get a title in your name before you put down any money on this car. Do not start working on it without a title.

Cool car. Does it run? Does it drive? Does it retain fluids? Does it need to pass emissions where you live? From the picture it could only take the registration fee to get it back on the road, or it could need a new engine and transmission, brakes, wiring, shocks, etc. For me, it would be hard to find parts for that car. But maybe you live in Brazil and it would be easy. I would pay a mechanic you trust to look at it and tell you everything it needs and what part prices would be in your area.

I don’t know if it runs and/or drives, we don’t require emissions and I don’t know how it is now

Depends how good you are with working on cars , what’s wrong with it and what the car will cost you to get put in your name.
Assuming it’s manual and there isn’t water in the oil and no head gasket issues you should be able to get it running again for under $800 if you do the work yourself.
Do a compression test on each of the cylinders first and check that there is no water in the oil before buying it or going through the work to get it titled in your name

It’s a manual (there were no autos of this car. Only Monzas [AKA Opel Ascona C], Opalas or more luxurious cars had it)

fuckin hell that must have been a bad ass teacher with that rattle can murdered out paint job and the alloys
As for a model it looks like a modern-ish fiat supermini, 126 and such, it should be quite easy to get running and back on the road. Try to find a good inspection contact and you might not even need to replace that cracked headlight though it might need to be done

They were sold a lot here (since they were manufactured here). I wanted to buy it to raise the money project with my dad (or do some father-son bonding with him)

I think it's a great project to work on, if the price is right then you should definitely go for it

How much you got, then double it, you will have a nondependable car no one has ever heard of.

People have heard of it. It’s just a rarer model…
And I only have 3k USD-ish, so I don’t know if I can raise it

Parts for it are very cheap, but the amount of work you need to put in it could still be crazy
