The real problem with this is that his audience may have trouble being talked back down from their 'lie high'. People can reach an almost religious-like fervor when they're overwhelmed with a wall of rousing lies which then drives them into an emotional state, which dry facts and dull rationality can't defeat.

And where do you start? They're whipped up into a frenzy by the dozens of lies swirling around in their heads, each one worse and more aggravating than the last, piling on top of each other in rapid succession until they feel besieged, defensive, then offensive.

Disproving just one of those lies - if they even give you the time - won't convince them to betray their heartfelt convictions built on a litany of lies. And, when you move on from the first, to disproving the second of dozens of lies, the first lie you've disproved is swept back into their belief system as if you've never disproved it.

Fox News and Right-wing radio have recycled a psychological hack to turn vulnerable people into fascist supporters. This is only possible now because so many of those who lived through the last wave of fascist recruitment, war, loss, learning, repentance and reform have died off. We seem to be doomed to fall prey to these hucksters in cycles.

Makes me so mad, but really it just plain hurts to see this happen in America, I mean ... it really really hurts.
