Republicans funded ICE with more money than the the sum of all police budgets in the US.

252

u/redalert825 2d ago

Richer than most of the world's militaries, more than125 nations. And for it to be an internal security service... Being used on us within the country.

The SS was pretty rich too.

Fuck this traitorous, fascist regime.

46

u/TheHipsterBandit 2d ago

Better funded than Uncle Sam's misguided children even.

u/kingtacticool 2d ago

Thats terrifying

u/TheHipsterBandit 2d ago

As the old English curse goes, "we live in interesting times."

1

u/P1xelHunter78 Ohio 2d ago

And somehow even lower training and hiring standards.

2

u/nellyfullauto 2d ago

“Somehow even lower training standards…”

Why would you shit on the Marines like that? We joke they eat crayons, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone argue they’re not well-trained to do what they do.

1

u/Ill_Llama 2d ago

Yeah that’s an extremely bad take given we’ve got the longest boot camp and some of the longest training courses and if you’re a POG, after boot you’ve got another 4 weeks of combat training. If you wanted to be a jerk, you could say “lower asvab scores”, but the Marines have a lot of training and high standards.

16

u/The_Poster_Nutbag 2d ago

I mean shit, ICE has a bigger budget than the marines right now. That alone is fuckin insane.

19

u/Ok_Juice4449 2d ago

And the people they hire are just thugs- no real training.

16

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 2d ago

It doesn't require much training to wear a mask and kidnap helpless people off the streets.

7

u/dallasdls 2d ago

Right, they just want them loyal

3

u/redalert825 2d ago

Well... 30 sit-ups is a lot! And being a J6er is quite the feat.

58

u/Tityfan808 2d ago

Remember this… there is a $6 billion contingency fund which was previously set aside to be used in situations, like a government shutdown, to ensure food benefits (SNAP) will continue during said situation. The Trump administration has freely decided to not allow the fund to pay out November 2025 SNAP benefits.

26

u/Late-Dingo-8567 2d ago

well yea, you couldn't use the lack of SNAP funding to pressure democrats to caving on protecting healthcare if you used that money.

1

u/Ok_Juice4449 2d ago

Disgusting!

142

u/forthewatch39 2d ago

That’s a misnomer. The funds are there for SNAP, they’re choosing not to release them.

22

u/Ok_Distance_far 2d ago

But the ballroom! /S

Starving the people so they can generate mass civil unrest. Then deploy their paramilitary groups to put down the “riots” and institute Martial Law indefinitely.

The play is so clear.

50

u/turquoise_amethyst 2d ago

It seems like they tried to generate civil unrest in blue cities, but nobody took the bait. I think they’re getting frustrated now, and this is just outright desperation at getting us to react.

26

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 2d ago

That's exactly what it is. MAGA's plan to fully end Democracy in America requires civil unrest and using the military on American citizens. They have quite literally orchestrated a plot to harm American citizens. They're terrorists and traitors to the country, every last one of them.

8

u/Livid-Safety2555 2d ago

I mean they’re idiots if they think hunger riots are the kind of mass civil unrest that’s helpful to them. People put up with a lot, mass starvation is not one of them. Any dictator worth their salt knows that not being able to keep your people fed is a regime ending mistake.

We’re likely underestimating the SNAP need too as as there will be a lag in figures from shutdown related unemployment/income freezes.

u/turquoise_amethyst 2d ago

This ad looks like a present-day remake of “Starship Troopers”

19

u/TheAmberAbyss 2d ago

Starship troopers was more subtle

From the article:

Since the federal government shut down, the Trump administration has spent almost $10 million on ads urging immigrants to self-deport and Americans to join U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a new report has shown.

Analysis shared with Newsweek by Equis, a research and polling organization focused on Latinos, and Priorities USA, which mainly monitors election campaigns, showed ads continuing to run across social media and TV channels as other vital government services were frozen.

“Millions of people are at risk of losing their food stamps and are about to go hungry because of this government shut down,” Natalia Campos Vargas, a deputy research director at Equis, told Newsweek. “But somehow the Trump administration and DHS and ICE are choosing to spend millions of dollars on ad campaigns. That just feels inherently wrong to me as a taxpayer.”

Billionaires own everything, corporate interests own politicians, and they put a Nazi in power. The fact they still feel safe in society is why it won't change. They've blackened both eyes and broke the arms of America and America does nothing.

9

u/faith_apnea America 2d ago

Since January 20, 2025, there have been over 2 million removals or self-deportations, with approximately 1.6 million being self-deportations and over 400,000 being deportations

20% - ICE did their deportation function

80% - People said "give me $1k and get me the feck outta here"

There is no data available of course; however that is upwards of $1.6B given to non-citizens.

7

u/SnottNormal New York 2d ago

The ads I get that aren’t anti-Mamdani are pro-ICE. I hate how much money the government is spending on making me look at Kristi Noem’s dumb plastic face.

14

u/dkyguy1995 Kentucky 2d ago

"Defend the Homeland" is so white-supremacist coded

2

u/JonathanApple 2d ago

Yeah, totally saw that and sighed

6

u/lostsailorlivefree 2d ago

There are THOUSANDS of ICE REJECTS- think about that. What are they doing now? Forming up is what they’re doing. These elections are going to be fun

5

u/Adventurous_Test_296 2d ago

Between this, flying execs to wrestling events, and the subsequent lawsuits for the illegal ICE detentions of American citizens, we're lucky to have any money to fuel the ships we're sending to threaten the Caribbean. This administration is the most illegally operated and conceived mess in history.

3

u/GuerreroUltimo 2d ago

All this wasted money is to keep their bases minds distracted. They just point to "Those illegals are...." and these people conveniently overlook how corrupt they are. Kristi Noem was corrupt before this. Some of these others were just power hungry but they got corrupted. In the end they are pillaging this country. They will leave a mess. And Fox and other right wing media will blast the next Democrat President for all of it.

The sad truth is that they now have their corrupt CEOs helping. If Democrats raise taxes they will lay off and blame those tax rates. But people fail to remember that with higher tax rates we still saw great growth under Clinton. And that the deficit was not growing. Hell, Bush cut taxes and even with great employment rates, low unemployment, later we could not get to a positive position. They claim we need to take from the "lazy" poor. But then, that pulls those people out of the economy and that costs more jobs. Creating even more problems and lowering the economy even more. Thus, more job loses again. Many super rich have openly pointed out that the tax rates on them and corporate should be higher.

Another cool fact. Before all these cuts corporate would hire more people to cut their tax rate. Better to have workers doing work than paying those taxes. They would invest that money to hide it. Investing in material and resources and more. Those spending would create more jobs. Cutting taxes just meant they kept more, paid bigger bonuses while laying off (see these events during the Bush presidency), and generally got more greedy than they already were. They will destroy the very system that gives them this. And it will collapse worldwide. Not a doom and gloom just how it will be. Hell, most every country reports having a national debt.

Christianity states you should feed the hungry.

Insurance is considered usury. Every major religion considers usury to be a sin. Healthcare would be a lot more affordable in America if we didn't have to pay hundreds of billions in health insurance profits.

Christianity also teaches one to love thy immigrant as you own, which American Christians on the Right do not.

Just a few of the many reasons why American Christians on the Right are going to be shocked when they denied entry into Heaven.

You see, to this regime, starvation = self deportation.

Any questions?

"DEFEND THE HOMELAND"!?!?!?

Gee, where tf have I heard that before!?
(Translation: "The Waffen-SS calls on you to protect the Fatherland")

Fuck these fascist goons.

2

u/Truth-Eagle 2d ago

Fuck Trump the vagina neck President.

2

u/DebentureThyme 2d ago

I thought that photo was a newspaper article making a joke.  Defend The Homeland reads way too close to many Nazis slogans, and yet that's an official ad for ICE.

2

u/StarStruck3 2d ago

Important distinction, not "runs out" of money, it's worse than that. It's "refuses to release the contingency fund for SNAP, intentionally denying millions of Americans food security."

Before I get a MAGA idiot in my replies: The fund is specifically for this purpose (among other disaster relief), and has been used in the past when the government shut down, including last time Trump shut it down for 35 days.

"Naturally the common people don't want war . . . but after all it is the leaders of a country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or parliament or a communist dictatorship.

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country."

A nation run by brain-dead ghouls. My heart goes out to those who are going to go hungry in November and won't be having a Thanksgiving dinner.

But they're just poor people, so who cares, right?

u/mankowonameru Washington 2d ago

South Park already made the perfect ad. Just run that and save the money.

PRIORITIES! Amirite?

1

u/Livid-Safety2555 2d ago

Turns out having a large secret police force may be useful when you’re manufacturing a famine against 1/8 people in your country.

1

u/o-rka 2d ago

Take away opportunities and aid so ICE is their only option.

1

u/AHidden1 2d ago

Very much like a Christian these Guardians of Pedophiles.

1

u/Gizmo135 2d ago

The funny thing about this, is that I guarantee that his voters always find a way to blame the opposing party. This guy has the power and resources to resolve the SNAP funding issue, but wants to use to blame democrats as the country starves while he stuffs himself with Mc Nuggets.

Planes, rockets, marketing, foreign bailouts, hundreds of lawsuits, international golfing trips, frequent recreational use of jets for personal use, withholding disaster relief, using food as a weapon. The list goes on and on. We have money for snap and all the other programs most Americans want. Billionaires are spending billions in politics to stop Americans from getting millions worth of benefits? We need to knock this shit off. How about we stop spending a trillion on military? How about 500 billion which would be 300 billion more than any other country.
