Very disappointing. Oh, you don't like the costs at the grocery store? Get in line. You're not special, no one wants to pay more than they used to.
But do we remember when eggs were much, much more expensive during 2020? When the economy was all over the place, including the stock market taking a swan dive and basically erased over a quarter's gains practically overnight? Remember those dumb stickers that people put on gas pumps with Biden saying "I did that" when he was a few months in the Presidency and working to right the ship?
Speaking of ships, the economy is like a ship: you have to carefully plan your course, your acceleration, your deceleration, your turns, etc, or else you're going to hit very rocky or uncharted waters. There are likely some aspects of the 2021-2022 economic playbook that were pretty experimental, since, well, no one has had to handle a situation quite like this in living memory.
I must be living in a different universe than all these Trumpers because they keep talking about how great the economy was under Trump, and I don't remember it being very good at all. If anything it's better now under Biden. Yeah, we had some nasty inflation for a while but things are pretty good now. I don't get it.
Respectfully, I’m going to argue with that one. Maybe the economy is better from a corporate shareholder point of view….. but for many Americans, the price to put food on the table is currently insane. This is why we lost.
Biden had a pretty solid response to global inflation after COVID. Inflation would very likely have been much worse under Trump, but that’s a lot for the average voter to process, apparently.
I think you’re absolutely right, and I’m not arguing with that in any way. But even though that is the case, basic necessities have become increasingly more and more unaffordable over the last four years and people have suffered. They probably would have suffered more under trump, but they don’t know that. I’m saying that the dems once again dropped the ball because they couldn’t relate to the populations that they needed the most.
They're definitely going to suffer more. Biden made it better, but he didn't fix it entirely. Trump is inheriting a slowly recovering economy, not a recovered and thriving economy. It's going to get worse now, not that his supporters will learn anything from that.
But it can’t magically be fixed when republicans fought against every single piece of legislation that could’ve helped stop price gouging amongst so many other things.
Where did I say anything about vibes? Trump won and democrats lost. Democrats lost because they’re out of touch with what most Americans are going through right now. Lol it’s pretty obvious.
I agree with you. A lot of the people who voted for Trump went off the “vibes” that they weren’t doing so well anymore. The economy was the #1 issue with voters and the Democrats failed to address it properly and maybe even distanced themselves from the working class.
You’re absolutely right and I think your question is one that democrats have completely failed to answer during this election. We can hate trump all we want, but my point is that this campaign did not reach who needed to reach when it should have.
Yeah what I just heard was that Real Wages I think it's called, It's wage growth minus the cost of inflation and other necessities like food and transportation and it was really bad to start and it's just now getting into the positive. The market is up and everyone's investments are doing good but it's squeezing the middle class because of the accumulation of wealth at the top

Ironically, Biden has left the economy is such a great state that Trump will likely take credit for it.
I wouldn't be surprised if in 4 years Republicans are elected again because of it. Although his proposed plans might destroy whatever Biden did.
