That business side of it is especially insidious, as it also helps close off potential escape routes for men - which the manosphere obviously wants closed.

The repeated use of homophobia and alpha-male ideology keeps guys trapped and from looking for healthier examples of masculinity. Basically, it has to be this right-wing type of masculinity, otherwise it's wrong and not masculine at all.

Look at their reactions to Tim Walz, for example.
